Really cool game! The checkpoints were a bit harsh, but I loved the different mechanics in the different worlds, as well as the art contrast between the different worlds. I think the movement felt good. Especially loved the dash. Fall speed felt a little slow to me.

Great job!

The sunglasses dropping in debug mode is just perfect. Really cool idea and well executed

Very cute, nice pixelart, I like the world change and different mechanics coming with it, very cool!

I wish I was this cool while debugging :D
Very well put together game! Good job!

The game looks and sounds really good! The mechanics of the dual world, although banal, is presented in a cool way. Unfortunately, I got stuck in one place and did not understand how to go further (Once I managed to dash into a nook behind a tree, but there was nothing .__.

Developer

Thanks for trying it out! I could not figure out in time how to properly implement a fail system when you get stuck like that, so my hacky (and not clearly-communicated) remedy is to just give the player the option to reset the level. I suppose the other world needed some arrow indicators to guide the player on where to go, since the main world already had plenty of those.

Good difficult scaling, the last levels can be quite hard. Enjoyed the concept and mechanics a lot, is a fun platformer to play for some time.

My only problem was with the “floatness” of the character in the cool mode, I think you’re supposed to have a lower gravity at that mode, but I felt like it was a little bit to low.

Pretty cool entry 😎.

Developer

Thanks for trying the game, and I'm  glad you enjoyed it! I tried my best to implement fake slow motion and low gravity as you said, but the movement does feel too floaty. Unfortunately I designed the levels with this physics in mind, so I don't know any easy fix that would also make sense with the level design.

So, I hate platformers - at least a lot of the ones I play in game jams. But yours was a nice take on things and at least level one didn't have my worst fear - endless places to fall to my death!

I liked the variety of movement, so the hold to jump higher, dash etc. I liked the simple playful aesthetic of the graphics.

I also liked the "debug mode" concept as a way of "glitching" through the game.

Thanks for the feedback! My original intent was to not give the player an option to fail (at least in the main world) since it would be weird story-wise for the simulated reality peaceful forest to be hazardous to its inhabitants. The movement mechanics were also fun for me to figure out so it's great to hear that you like having that variety.

Overall nice feel and unique mechanics to the game, good amount of content, kept me on my toes and had good level scaling.

Thanks for playing the game, and thank you for the comment.

Very fun little platformer. I didn't make it all the way through since the difficulty scaled a bit too much for me but I really liked the idea and the application of the theme. The way the graphics and music all fit together was great. Nice shades. :)

Good level design overall! I had quite a bit of trouble with the jump and double jump mechanics in relation to the height of the platforms which led to me often running out of time. I tried holding the jump button as well as quick taps followed by a double jump but neither worked very well.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for the feedback. This problem might be just me getting too used to my own game's controls, but the intended way is to double jump once you reach max height. I may have mindlessly designed the levels with this exact style in mind and not giving enough leeway plus it is partially my fault for not communicating this in the level design. Thanks again for trying the game out!

It happens! In my case the problem was that a single jump usually wasn't enough to reach platforms, while a double jump of any sort was way too high and the low gravity of the unstable realm ate up too much time for me to be able to reach the next checkpoint in time. Maybe it's an export issue or a framerate one or I'm just exceptionally incapable. XD

Nice retro feel, and I like the transition between realms. Level design is great too! Perhaps for me the audio was a bit harsh, so I turned it way down. :)

Developer

Thanks for trying it out! In hindsight, I should have adjusted the volume in advance, so my bad about the loudness lol

Nice job! I like the switching between the two world mechanic and how when you lose you don't die, but you still have to redo the puzzle.

Developer

Thanks! I originally designed the game to have no fail conditions so I'm glad you liked that feature

Agreed, I think "dying" in computer games is so often a cop-out. I like games that reward you for retrying things, not encourage you to give up!
