Game Description
It's lacking a solid game loop, but I think the implementation was well done

How does your game tie into the theme?
At any time you can make a deal with the devil, but it'll cost you.

Cool game, I was confused on the green beatles until I found the help menu. I agree the gameplay loop needs some work, but once you find the next step after running around and shooting then I’m sure it will be a great game! I’m uploading a gameplay and impressions video on my youtube channel: https://youtu.be/-lvgNsRteHU

Fun controls! I thoroughly enjoyed the combat! The game could use more clarity in the color hierarchy, but it's fun nonetheless. Good entry!

I’d appreciate more details on what you mean by color hierarchy, just so if we make a post jam version, it’s better.

Having less saturated colors on background, terrain, etc. versus more saturated and vivid ones on your main character to allow it to stand out even when it's small. This is very important for proper visual communication in a game of that type!

I really like the concepts in the game, there is a lot that could be expanded on in some really cool ways. The bullet cycle mechanic is especially interesting to me!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Maybe a post jam version will see some expansions.

Cool game, I like that the enemies get bigger when they run into each other. It makes some of them get pretty intimidating lol. Great job on the submission!

Interesting idea to incentivise the player to bank their shots to increase the style but it felt a little difficult for me - maybe a guideline could have helped me actually land a few more.

Good work on the procedural generation too - the maps are really large and don't feel too samey.

Developer(+1)

Thanks, that was added a little last minute haha. I noticed I was getting bank shots on accident sometimes and just thought the player should get extra points for it. Guidelines probably would be a nice feature.

Interesting, the music and art are nice. Could've done without the flickering background on the main menu though. The deal with the devil mechanic could've done with more explanation, it didn't feel very clear what actually changed.

Cool game! Killing enemies was fun and movement felt good! I didn't actually realize at first that I could travel down those long tunnels to get to new areas until a beetle was coming up from one! I also couldn't quite understand how the deals with the devil worked - my stats and such would change but yeah maybe needed more communication visually as to what was happening!

Great entry overall gamer!
