Wonderful job!! While I haven’t tested it due to not having a 3D printer, and that ordering the prints would take a minute, from what I can see it introduces new functionality to Godot that allows people to make their own game-pads that work with Godot. That has some pretty cool potential. My only suggestion would be to include a more detailed description of it on the itch page and GitHub README. Something like: “This is an open source project that allows you to create your own game-pad/controller and use it in Godot”. I hope to see the project become popular, and can envision several ways a custom controller could largely benefit some games. Good work!

I appreciate that, especially knowing the project you submitted!Thank you!

CC0, nice!!

Thanks! Yeah the main goal for the jam is to try to bring more example projects or tools into the world, so for things like the duration, it gives people plenty of time to do it, even if they’re busy with life. Also allows some people to pop in late.

So this is what I have at the moment on the jam page:

Code licenses should be CC0 or MIT. The only exception for this is if you have a dependency that requires a different open-source license.

Right now the jam does allow for other licenses if there’s a dependency that needs it involved. What license where you looking to use? I do want to discourage people from going with GPL as much as possible as it’ll get its non-permissive cooties all over my permissive engine. While I don’t really mind other permissive licenses, keeping things MIT/CC0 keeps licensing everything super easy and consistent with Godot. If enough people interested in the jam want GPL or other licenses, I’d consider backpedaling on that rule.

I’ll add a section suggesting people consider trying to publish it to the asset library.

I hope you will be able to too and good luck if you do!!

If you think any improvements/changes can/should be made before the jam starts, please feel free to voice your opinion here.

If you’re looking to join a team, or need someone for your team, this thread is the one stop shop for team making.

Feel free to link to the project(if you want) when it’s done. I’d be curious to see how you used it

Yes, commercial use is allowed as long as it’s in an end product :)

Thanks, that was added a little last minute haha. I noticed I was getting bank shots on accident sometimes and just thought the player should get extra points for it. Guidelines probably would be a nice feature.

Thanks! Maybe a post jam version will see some expansions.

I’d appreciate more details on what you mean by color hierarchy, just so if we make a post jam version, it’s better.

This is intense haha

Really good job!

I'm a programmer looking to join a small team. I've been mainly using Godot 4, but can manage on 3.5.1. If you want to chat for a min. and see if we might make a good team, let me know.

Thanks! Appreciate the input. If it gets updated, I'll see about implementing that.

Thanks! We wanted to do more with potions/enemies/attacks/etc. but just didn't have the time. I haven't talked to the team about the possibility of doing a small fix-up/update after the jam ends yet, but I'd definitely consider making some improvements based on responses and coming back to it with a fresher set of eyes. If you explain more about the cohesiveness of the graphics, that's something that could be involved.

Thanks for the feedback!

I think you did a good job with the lighting. It's dynamic, but not obnoxious. Level layout and design have good flow. Good job!

If you notice something that could be applied to all or most of the models to improve them, feel free to make a suggestion and I'll see if I can make it happen. If you have problems with just an individual animation, I'm afraid I don't have the time to fix them up one by one. You're welcome to modify it to your needs. If you do make improvements on an animation and would like to help out the next person, you're welcome to redistribute it or if you'd like it to be included with this pack, I'd be happy to include your fixed/improved animations in this pack.

Think of this as a normal comment's section for the Animation set.

I made a small homage/expansion to your work:

Level of experience doesn't matter so much to me as how much effort you're willing to put forth. Want my discord handle?

If your team is looking for a programmer for Unity/Godot, feel free to contact me. I'm an intermediate level programmer and have been in a couple of jams.

I sent a friend request so we could talk

In the talks with some people, but there might still be room! What skill you got?

(1 edit)

Hi, I've worked in Unreal, Unity, and Godot. For a short jam like this, I'm looking to do a 2D game in Unity or Godot. I've been in one jam before, which my team actually won(There were only like 2-3 entries). If you have a team and need a programmer, I might be your guy. If you'd like to form a team with me, I'm happy to work with like up to 3-4 other people of any skill level or trade. I can put a good amount of time into making the game. You can reach me on Discord at @RancidMilk#6139.

Edit: I've found a team for this jam! Wish everyone competing good luck!

Did you find a team? I'm trying to assemble the best of the best(Or whoever isn't teamed up yet haha). I'm decent in Unity. This would be my second game jam. Let me know if you're interested and haven't found a team yet, or if you did find a team and need some support. I can code and am decently familiar with the engine.
