Cause of Death: Death Haha!
I really enjoyed this game and I like the mechanic of cursing before being able to hurt the enemies. I think there is a lot here that could be expanded upon for some unique gameplay. A couple areas of improvement I noticed: I think the falling-to-my-death hitbox could be a little more forgiving. Sometimes I felt like it took a while for me to find the last enemy. The music was a great selection, I love the track. I had a lot of fun playing!

I am glad you enjoyed, I had a blast watching you play! Unfortunately, the laser weapon is a bit bugged 🐛 and I was not able to fix it in time for the jam. Thank you for playing!

Thanks for checking my game out! I'm glad you had fun playing, and thank you!

I'm glad your team got it up and running, this game was a hoot! I think one thing that would be a great improvement would be the ability to use keyboard controls for navigating all of the menus so I don't have to take my hands off the keyboard. Some of the insults from the enemy were hilarious. My favorite was "You couldn't spell AE if I gave you all the letters!" Dang it, Belladonna, you're right.

Great job completing your first jam! Definitely a difficult platformer, the jump curse level was tough for me, haha, but after a while it made me really appreciate the spring mechanic! I think one improvement that could be made is a more powerful dash. Overall, I had fun!

That is a very good point. I think in the future I would like to utilize some invincibility frames and a dash 🦀💨
Thanks for playing, and I am glad you had fun!

Thank you for the feedback. Audio is definitely an area I need to make a lot of improvement on. I am glad you had fun overall, and thank you for playing!

I'm glad you had fun! Eventually all games will become crab 🦀 lol
Thank you for the feedback, and thanks for playing!

Definitely some of my favorite genres! Woops, perhaps I should add a cursor 😂
Thank you for giving my game a try, glad you had fun!

I'm glad you enjoyed, thanks for playing!

Thank you for the excellent feedback!
I think aiming the Claw with the mouse direction is a good idea and would make it consistent with the other weapons. I'm glad you had fun with the cheat mode, I may have to find a subtle way to show players that it is an option!

Anytime! It was fun!

To be honest, after about 10x I couldn't really tell what was going on. I suspect there was some sort of tomfoolery going on as I clearly remember being about to lose, but then the battle swung back in my favor! The game didn't crash though, it showed the right screen for game over and I played another round normally after.

(1 edit)

I really like this one, the curse mechanics were fun to use and I liked that I could negatively effect my own devilish companions as well. The art is great, too. I also discovered a secret game-mode - seeing how high I can get the time multiplier before the game ends 😂 I got to 39x speed...

I like the speed and I feel like there is definitely a lot of potential here! I think larger falling hazards would be more threatening. Keep on jammin', we're all here to learn!

Very fun, I feel like there is a ton of replay-ability. I tried to make my sword as small as possible and I got the perfect round for it lol

Thank you! It was very unfortunate that I wasn't able to fix the laser in time. I would definitely recommend trying cheat mode 🦐 Thanks for playing!

Very fun, everything felt smooth and well-implemented. The graphics were charming as well and the ending was great. I couldn't stop playing!

I'd definitely like to check it out after it's finished. I think the character art is very interesting.

This game was a blast in a glass. I loved punching the enemies and the graphics were charming. Very fun!

I really like the concepts in the game, there is a lot that could be expanded on in some really cool ways. The bullet cycle mechanic is especially interesting to me!

Excellent take on a classic! I had a lot of fun playing, and the splat animation was cracking me up!

I really liked the visuals. The game was both relaxing and stressful at the same time lol. I think the menu and tutorial screens were a little too bright.

Simple, satisfying, and relaxing gameplay. I found that the key bindings were a little counterintuitive. Overall, very enjoyable!

Ahh, I see now - I didn't notice the unfinished tag. I like the idea for the weapons growing jealous over time. I followed so I can give it a try when you finish!

I'm glad you felt tense, definitely one of the emotions I like to capture in this type of game! I wanted to let the player build their own way to play and set their own difficulty. Thanks for playing!

Dang, that's a good high score right there! The highest I got while testing was around 170k!

I spent a good amount of time trying to figure out what was going on with it, but I didn't want to linger too long. I'm guessing it has something to do with the movement logic or physics engine.

I like the way the curses add on when I die. The art is charming, the enemies felt a little OP, and I had fun!

I had a lot of fun with this one. I like how you implemented the curse-spreading mechanic - it adds a new meaning to "get off my lawn!" lol. The music track was great too.

Absolutely hilarious. Elegant & passive-aggressive game lol

The music tracks are totally bangin! Definitely a unique and fun take on the theme!

I love the art and audio! It was fun to play, and I agree that ability descriptions would be a good improvement.

By the power of Jaddeth may this game be rated!

Good work on using all the wild-cards! Although I was not very good, I had a lot of fun with the spells.

It's too bad you weren't able to finish in time, but I think the sandwich making mechanics are fun to play around with. I especially like how some ingredients repel the others.

Unfortunately, I couldn't run the game on Windows 11. The concept looks fun from the images though!

That death animation posture and sound effect is absolutely hilarious, I love it.

Unfortunately the game would not run for me after the load screen. Using Windows 11 here. I like the concept and the music though!

Your implementation of darkness is well-done! It looks like this will be a lot of fun when it is finished.

I found the control scheme of using "1" to cast a little difficult, and I was uncertain of when I was able to cast.

As a ToME fan, I loved this one. I like the way you implemented darkness over the map and the curses were interesting. I did find that I could cheese the increased damage curse  by passing my turn, haha. Nice work on the proc gen!

For some reason the audio was not working for me, I tried playing on the latest version of Firefox, then Chrome.

I like the One-Hit mode and you definitely nailed the retro sprites! Sometimes it felt like I was waiting for enemies to spawn.
