certified banger, this was suuuper fun!
It was a nice game!
I got to see the ending, it was fun. While I don't consider the ending particularly interesting, I liked the "don't be a flat earther" gag :p
Controls are nice, but it would be more accessible if parachute had an in-game tutorial
Music and visuals are pretty cool too.
Amazing game!
I wasn't sure if there was an ending to the game, or if the message was that the Sun is so far that it's essentially impossible to fly there :) But the engaging gameplay kept me playing and I found out.
Very nice roguelike gameplay loop, quite unique game and brilliant idea that fits well with theme.
Some SFX would improve UX a lot. Even just 2 sounds for collecting fuel and money would help a lot.
I like how it's not mentioned (I think it's not?) directly that it's best to fly as high as possible and start collecting money when falling down - I felt kind of smart when I figured it out myself :D
Great job, very impressive!
Thank you for playing and feedback!
That's my fault on not adding a height check slider, it would be much nicer but the time was running up.
And also, this meta of collecting them in the way back was made entirely by accident lol. I was trying to add a "terminal velocity" upgrade, but then I realised that a parachute is much better ;p
Fun little game! Kiko Loureiro made the music?! I used to listen to Angra long ago :)
I could probably have finished it even faster if I only realized how much getting those tanks gave back after a while.
One thing about camera management: I would have liked the rocket to be a bit further down when going up and further up when going down, so that there would have been more of the screen that was relevant at all times.
Nicely done, satisfying end and all!
Thank you so much for playing and the feedback! This album from Kiko is one of my favorites, it's so good, I recommend it very much, here I just used the Synth FX and Drums tracks. And the most amazing thing is that all the songs in the album are as it's name, fully Open Source.
Also I will try to implement your suggestion, this makes much sense and I didn't noticed it.
I enjoyed this game! Nice balancing on the upgrades. The game length was perfect. Well done!
This is my highest rated game yet! I've seen a few games with the same idea but this is by far the best and just the most fun execution of them all, clean controls, a nice and funny narrative around it and actually decently balanced upgrades, very nice :)
nice game! great fun to play
I think this is a classic idea executed nicely! I had a lot of fun while playing, even ended up finishing it which cant be said for all jam games.
I think there are some tweaks that could be made, but those are subjective and didn't really affect my rating. While i think the parachute is a nice idea in practice i found myself not using it as much, as going up is just more fun which led to me opting to go again, collecting more upgrade parts on the way up. Maybe this could be exchanged for a magnet upgrade or smth else instead.
Would have also loved to know how far up i went, as i was quite surprised when i suddenly reached the sun.
Still, these are very minor critisisms, i had a blast playing this!
Thank you so much for the feedback, I will surely add those suggestions after the jam voting is over, I thought the idea of a magnet is a really nice one!
Hey, I like the game idea and its mechanics. I would add the distance traveled and the flight time of the ship to it. Good Luck in the game jam :)
