Nice game! I liked how the blood floats the environment. This game instantly reminded me on plague inc. evolved! With the card game design it is more casual friendly and you can carefully plan your strategy. Good job on this!

It's an interesting game concept which i imagine could be greatly extended. Also the game fits the theme quite well i.m.o.

I think this was pretty cool and would be a fun concept to explore more. I think it could be improved by labelling the UI elements and making the spreading phase faster or able to be sped up, but overall a fun experience!

Very interesting concept. It pulled me in and kept me playing for multiple times trying to optimize my strategy. Sometimes the cards would overlap and make it slightly annoying to select the one under it and I would've like the spreading phase to be a bit quicker but an amazing game nonetheless!

Theming was on point and it almost felt like a board game! And this comes from a board game nerd :D

Thank you for playing the and your kind words!
Our narrative designer was a bit hesitant about the theming but after asking some friends we doubled down on the theme.
Me and the narrative designer are both D&D DMs and our two inspirations for the game were Plague Inc. Evolved and Cultist Simulator.

I really liked the infection mechanic on grid, it was deeply satisfying to see all those cells turning red! Also, the power-up cards that can be retained in the hand from one turn to the next, add a new layer of strategy that I didn't expect, but which I truly appreciated :)
Overall, the gameplay has a lot of interesting ideas, and it would be nice to see them further explored :)

Regarding the aesthetic, I think it really fits the gothic/vampire setting, but it becomes too dark sometimes and I had some troubles in seeing the game elements. The audio is really catchy, and I loved how it changes organically at the end of the day!

Great submission, congrats :)

Thank you for playing the game and for your great and detailed feedback!

The infection mechanic on the grid was the first element we decided on in the design phase mainly because of the gridlock wild card.

When debugging the game seeing the infection spread at really high speed was mesmerizing. Makes me think of adding time speeding control like in Plague Inc. Evolved and The Sims.

The cards came in on the second day as I started to explain to our other programmer what we need to make and just spew out something about cards and they all liked it.

During the development we used the default background for a 2D scene in Godot and we realized we need to add it on the last day and our artist is in a totally different time zone but he pulled through and we made what we could.

The music is awesome I don't really have any interesting thing to add from the development except we all liked it.

Personal point from myself: This was our first time using Godot so the game isn't perfect.
There are some bug fixes that we noticed and are readying fixes to deploy when the voting period is over.
But we learned a lot and all of the team is existed to continue working with engine.
