Great first entry for anyone! Very complete for a first entry, way moreso than my first entry ever was. :P I don't have much to say that hasn't been said already, but great work and would love to see more from you!

After reading the instructions and comments here, I managed to make some weapons. Cool!

I would say, it took a couple of tries to figure out the mini-game. Thankfully I started the game from the Linux terminal and was able to see the “NICE” and “BAD” feedback, so I eventually got it.

A very decent start to a crafting game here! The game’s layout is clear, and, it seems, mechanically, everything is generally there! Fixing that issue with using the forge out of order, and adding a bit of audio would definitely be the next things to tackle, if you choose to continue with this game.

I really appreciated that there was a tutorial screen in the game!! I know tutorials in general can feel tedious and time consuming, especially during a jam, so I just want to make sure I say that I really appreciate that effort!

I know I spoke about these in my stream, but I wanted to put them here…

I think the timing for the patrons is way too fast. And, when I mean way too fast, it feels like an individual patron spawns in and out faster than it would take my character to craft an item even if I crafted it the fastest I could. Thankfully there’s no penalty for missing an order… yet :)

While the crafting material isn’t that hard to find, there is nothing on screen that tells me which container has what item. There should be something (I suggested a little floating icon above the container) indicating what’s in each. While it’s not hard to figure out, a player could have trouble remembering whats where as they get deeper into the game.

Overall, for your first GAME, let alone game jam, this is solid work! Here’s a link to me playing you game if ever you want to revisit.

Tried the game. Might have promise but I also had the Heat problem so its hard to say anyhting about gameplay.

Thank you for trying!

I think I've found where it goes wrong, if you start at the forge instead of anvil it freezes. so that is my fault for bad programming and not making a better tutorial. Thank you for trying!

Well I tried to play the game, but it bugged everytime I wanted to "heat". Otherwise the game's visuals was good and appealing.

The options in the main menu didn't work and the tutorial could've been better. The gameplay also needed some more clarification for interactions.

Thank you for trying!

I could've defenitely been better in explaining how the game is supposed to be played. I think the bugs stems from not starting the crafting at the anvil, but the forge. and it missing params so it freezes. This totally slipped passed me. Thank you for the feedback!

Thank you for this submission. I had a hard time getting the weapons forged in time, but I guess that's the life of the blacksmith. You did a good job utilizing the art from the art pack and harmonizing it with the progress bars for the mini-games. Maybe different mini-games for the different stages would be an interesting concept to consider.

Good effort, but the options menu doesn't seem to work and you get stuck if you use the forge ("E to heat") without a valid item. Cute game

Developer(+1)

thank you!
I indeed didn't have enough time to implement the options menu, and in my own playtesting didn't catch that.

Thank you for trying out the game!!

We had similar ideas! My ambition was to have your forging all kinds of different things but then I went all 3D and high def and wasn't able to do multiple items in time.

Your graphics are cute and I'd love to see them better - please think about turning on scaling in the Project Settings next time so people like me with not the best eyesight can enjoy your creations more.

Congrats on your first GWJ entry!

Thank you for the feedback! First time actually exporting a game, so had no clue. Will do so in the future!
