The game is very unique and funny in some instances. I love giving the goblin the zoomies.
Overall, the only thing i think the game is missing is a journal where you keep track of your discovered runes.
Good job!
Great art and animation! Would like it if the goblin can be used for a couple more runes before I have to summon a new one. Some effects are also not quite apparent so a brief text to explain the effects a bit would be appreciated. For example, I made a rune that causes the goblin to have stars on their head. I thought this would stun the goblin so I tried selling it to the fighter but he insist it wasn't helpful for him.
Thanks for the feedback! I agree that some of the effects need to be clearer, the "mood" effects are too small on-screen to see what's going on, makes sense that you'd think that's a stun (that one actually makes the goblin happy). I'd have to think about how to let you use multiple runes before resetting the goblin, that's an interesting one. And thanks for playing!
Great job! My only complaint is trying to memorize all the things I'd already tried! But I do see an argument for this way, gotta keep track of what you've done! Great idea, keep it up!
Good complaint, thank you! I would've added a notebook if I'd had time. And thanks for playing!
!! IT WAS SO FUN! not too complex once i figured out the rooms, but my brain couldn't keep up with all the recipes (skill diff D:) but it was so much fun! CONGRATS on your first game it is really good!
Thank you! If I had time, I would've added a book that shows what recipes you've tried and let you make a note on what they did, but I opted to just give the player plenty of money to start. I'm glad you liked it!
Very cool and complex! I'm amazed that you managed to pull this off in such a short time! Great job!
Thanks! It was a lot of work, I really had to prioritise. I'm glad I had my sister to do the goblin art for me
I failed here! My tired brain couldn't remember enough of the concepts to actually play the game properly. I wonder if you could have had some kind of incremental tutorial level where you introduce the concepts one by one rather than all at once.
Having said that - the others below managed it, so maybe it's just me!
First ever game??? Wow! Great effort. Well done on pulling this together and submitting!
Thanks so much! I have been learning PyGame for a few years but never got anything finished (learned Python though), found Godot like 2 months ago, absolutely love it, and wanted to actually get something out quickly now that I can.
I agree that it could do with a better tutorial, I'm not a fan of slideshow tutorials at all but boy are they quick to make
awesome. This much progress in 2 months is excellent. Godot is a joy to use. Hope you continue on this learning journey
Thanks for the submission! I like the originality in trying to figure out what each combination does (like the old board game Elixir). I had fun working on my little goblin test subject. I did keep forgetting to reset the goblin and that ate into my time a bit (for the animation to run).
thanks for playing, glad you liked it! I've heard of Elixir, didn't know that was what it's about
Super fun little puzzle experience. The premise was unique, and having to remember what you actually made and see if the effect would actually help the townspeople was good fun. I can see "not knowing what it'll do" mechanic work in loads of genres, besides puzzle, but this was really unique. Impressive submission :D
Thank you, and thanks for playing! I think your game is my favourite I've tried in this jam so far
Loved the experimentation to figure out what each combination does. And the forging was satisfying. Well done!
Thanks so much!
Was fun to figure out all the different recipes :)
Thanks for playing!
This was a lot of work, my god! But it's done. Unfortunately a bug means that resetting the game, whether you game-over or win, does not properly reset the state of the game. This is why we have play testers more than an hour before the deadline, I suppose
