The crafting isn’t too complicated to understand - but it seems a lot of people weren’t able to get it so i wouldn’t say it’s intuitive. It may be good to keep all the actions on one easy to understand menu rather than multiple separate menus. Feedback aside, since this was a single developer project where you handled the music, art, programming all on your own, i’d say you did some good work. It’s not super easy to take on everything!

Managed to read the Dweevish and got the +1 attack sword. But wasn't sure how to proceed after that with the +4 attack requirements. Some more explanation of the forging mechanics would surely help. Also I'm not sure where the forged items are kept. Would help to view the inventory. The core idea of having sword properties based on patterns seems good. All the best!

Thanks for the submission. I am part of the crowd that could not figure out how to get the forging to work. I really which I could read Dweevish. The music was a little repetitive and I had to turn it down eventually. Making the loop a bit longer would help with that a bunch.

In general, I see that the core mechanics are there, for the most part, but the game needs a lot of polish. I think the biggest issue is there’s no information about what kind of items have been forged. There’s no inventory to see what I have. I think being able to see what “items” I’ve actually made vs. what items are being requested at the market would reduce a lot of the guess work for the player.

Regarding the market… the player gets paid the same for everything. More powerful items should net the player more coin. That gives the player incentive to try forging the more powerful items.

Lastly, I’m not sure a “Buy Random Block” is the best choice for this style of game. I can understand a game jam’s time restraint can make developing more complex system difficult, but, if you were to build this game out more, then I think it would be better if the player could buy from a list of blocks. The more powerful ones costing more money… again, this is similar to the risk/reward I mentioned about forging.

If you were to improve the above, and tie it all together with a tutorial, I think you could have a decent game here.

Thank you for sharing this game on with me on my stream last night! If you’re interested in rewatching, here’s a link to me playing your game :)

I've gotta be honest, I have NO idea how to play this game.  I tried for a few minutes to get the hang of it, but without more feedback and instruction I just felt...lost.  I did manage to sell..some swords...a few times, I think...but I'm not entirely sure how I made them in the first place.  I can see there's an idea here behind it all, but I don't think it's presented enough to the player.  Still a good effort; a jam is a short time to put anything together, so good job finishing nonetheless!  Thanks for making us a game to play!

i make money, i happy, i didn't really know what the rules were so i often brute force sold items! I had fun! :D
