I have the same issues as some others - the game never seems to start and I'm stuck on the screen saying "Press Enter to start" - perhaps it's only checking for an "Enter" and not a "Return" key - (I'm on a laptop keyboard)

Sound and graphics are great - but can't comment on gameplay sadly

It's a resolution issue. I programmed it for 1080 which means the animation to make the UI go off-screen did not move far enough for higher resolutions.

Awesome game! Me like this! I didn't really understand what's going on, but killing spiders was cool. The boss had a bit strange animations, but it looked great still. Pretty fun :)

Developer

Thanks for playing!

I had the same issue as DoubleWord Labs unfortunately :( The game looked really cool, but just couldn't get it to run on Windows / Surface.

I was keen to try this but this is what it looks like on my PC

Developer

Sorry. :(

I have to say, I love the low poly look of the game and the textures! Reminds me of early PS2 games. The cut scenes were creative and definitely added heap of character to the game. It was fun to explore around and see what the world had to offer for a bit. The character controlled and felt fine to me, I didn't notice too much lag. I did get stuck in some geometry around the pot enemies. It took me a second to figure out what the symbols were referring to,, and the guide was also incredibly small on my screen (wide-screen, 1920x1080 resolution).

I did run into a pretty big bug where if you swing the sword during the cut scene right before you gain control over the next level up on the sword, you can't swing/cast magic afterwards, forcing a hard reset.

Great work though! Kudos on bringing a 3D game to the jam!

Thank you so much! Resolution testing is definitely something I'll need to do in the future!

Best comment! <3

Thank you so much for playing!! Sound was added the last day so I didn't have time to add the sliders. XD

Super impressive little 3D game! The controls are a little wonky and I wasn't clear on what I was trying to accomplish, but movement felt fluid and the graphics are really nice! Excellent work

Thank you so much for playing!!

I found it really incredible that you made a 3D game in a game jam, the graphics are pretty cool, but I felt a bit of a performance drop after using the special ability and killing several enemies at once. The scorpion boss at the end was also really cool to encounter, but I think it would be nice to have a clearer indication of the game's objective.

Overall, excellent work!

Thank you so much! We were originally going to have a dialogue box, but couldn't implement it due to time constraints so we had Mimi the Mimic use chat bubbles. I was trying to work on dropped frames which were largely due to overlapping collisions/areas/bodies that I didn't have time to clean up.

I think pb is right, 3d games aren’t super common, it’s always nice to see. Some room for improvement: would be nice to control the volume (it’s very loud), the tutorial ui stays on screen for quite some time, blocking view of the character. Graphics are pretty good, music is good, just some general programming practices. Good work nonetheless.

Developer(+1)

Thanks for playing!! Sound seems to have been the biggest complaint due to volume. Next time I'll be sure to add a volume bar. As for the UI blocking the character, what resolution do you play at? I noticed the UI giving me some trouble on different resolutions which I wasn't able to properly test.

Developer

Ah. That would be why. I'm not sure how to go about testing other resolutions since I don't have a high-end monitor, myself. Sorry about that, but thanks again!

you can sort of do a theoretical fix, on ready set the default game resolution to their viewport resolution to their monitor resolution and the mode to full screen, most problems should sort themselves out. also disallow resizing.

Developer

Great tip! Thank you!

This is amazing! So weird, so fun. Its not that common to see 3d games in jams and this one is very good. Great job!
