I really loved it! My high was 620. Simple game, yet wonderfully themed. I really adore that art style and the whole take on the feeling of void and loneliness (and I'd be definitely surprised if OMORI weren't a big inspiration for that xD I love that game too!). The phrases appearing from time to time were a nice addition, and it never felt so cool to see a gameover screen. The soundtrack is beautiful, though the upbeat music felt a bit off at first but I guess it does fit for a runner game (and it slaps). Greatly done!
Thank you so much! I just played your game and the art style was actually similair. Just inverted! You did awesome for jam! jam on jam on
I think the main theme might've been out of place but other than that this is a fun game. I like the creative interpretation of the theme. And the art is great.
Thanks for playing and leaving a comment :D
Wow! really great idea.
and really great implementation!!! :)
Thank you, you're sweet!!!
I had trouble feeling the sadness since the main game theme was so good! The hand drawn look was great and i enjoyed my time with it. The menu theme was the perfect amount of melancholy.
Ha ha thanks for the comment. It really is such a bop! Thanks :)
Really like the vibe of the game, felt very reminiscent of Omori in both the art style and the message. Definitely stealing that death image to look at, as it is too wholesome.
Love, Peace and Guidance.
PS. I love the different walk speeds for each friend due to different heights.
Thanks! Yep, it was entirely inspired by Omori. Awwww thats not death, that's life!! Thanks again, blue <3
i really enjoyed the concept of the game. I interpret it as "running away" from your problems, perhaps not intentionally avoiding friends either to figure out your problems by yourself or the feeling of not wanting to burden them with your personal problems but in the end even if you "lose or feel lost" still know that you are loved by your friends and they will support you regardless :) I also really liked the game over screen ! Very cute and sweet :D Brownie points +1
Aww, thank you stranger! Those are all such great and insightful ways of looking at it. The first idea you suggest of 'running away from your problems' was actually the initial idea! It was about avoiding your problems which causes a darker void to open inside of yourself - you nailed it. It was just too abstract to implement, which led to the idea of avoiding people. Thanks for playing (and the impact you have on the people around you), random person! xx <3.
Thank you for the comment <3. Yup, it is very bare bones. I had the time to do more but I didnt because ... self care, yup. It is bare bones but ill just chalk it up to the theme being void and void means nothing 🤯
Wow! Surprised by this little game. Deep. Impactful. Meaningful. And relavent
Wondering why we are so alone, maybe not realizing we are the ones choosing to be! Anyway, that's what I got from it. I also really enjoyed the animation.
Nice job.
Thanks so much! Yup, thats pretty much what I intended with the message. It's good to be alone sometimes. Sometimes its hard to balance. Thanks again.
This game has the best Game Over screen I've seen.
AWww thank you! It's courtesy of my two best friends. <3
Simple game but I can tell a lot of thought went into it. I especially like how the movement sound effect fits so well with the music.
Thank you for the kind words! I recorded a bass synth in the key of the background music so it syncs up.
