There is a good gameplay idea, it's sad that there isn't much of sounds and visual feedback.

Thanks for the game :)

Very cool theme implementation, I loved the hand drawings of the characters and some map objects

I like that there's already 3 different moves the player has, would be cool to add some synergies between them e.g. if you shoot at the wall it changes form or something

Overall great job, congrats!

I like that synergies idea, I might implement that if I ever come back to this. Thanks for the feedback and kind words.

Cool game, with different mechanics! I would have liked to have been able to shoot with a keyboard button as I felt that the mouse did not always shoot when walking. A steady camera might have worked better, or maybe that was the webversion? Had fun playing it! Well done!

Developer

There is a delay between when each shot can be made but I'm not sure if you're referring to that. If you get a chance an elaboration on your issue with shooting would be appreciated. It's also possible to hold down the mouse button and a shot will be made when the cooldown ends but the game never tells you so that's my bad. Other than that thanks for the feedback, I'll definitely put more work into the camera if I continue this game.

Cool game! I like how you implemented the theme, and the design of the monster is very creative and has its charm. The abilities are also really fun to use, and were explained well. Nice one!

Developer

I'm glad to hear the tutorials were clear, I was a little concerned they weren't. Thanks for the feedback.

I really like the design of the character! A bit more visual feedback for the attacks etc would have helped I think

Love the cooldown system and different abilities; easily my favorite use of "give me a minute" so far in the jam.

The art style was super unique and fit the theme nicely. I wish you had had time to flesh out the visuals more, because I really like the hand-drawn look.

This game had a really good sense of progression as you unlocked new abilities at a steady pace while the enemies got tougher and more numerous. Great work!

That was very fun gameplay wise! The different abilities added variety which you gain add variety. The P90's changed the game to bullet hell but it was very good difficulty curve overall.

I had a lot of fun with this game.  I think the hand-drawn aesthetic was super fun and you could have leaned into it a little more, maybe with cardboard-cutout backgrounds or something.  The void transparency was a fun and unique take on the theme, which I enjoyed a lot.

Developer

Yeah, I was planning on having all the enemies and backgrounds hand drawn with pencil but ran out of time. Thanks for the feedback though, I'm glad you enjoyed it despite the programmer art I had going on.

I had a fun time with this one. The transparencies with void attacks was a nice touch. My critique would be to add some animation into your main character as well as some of the enemies instead of them being a still image. Even a little wobble goes a long way and will make any of your future games much more engaging. Looking forward to seeing more of your work.

Very creative use of the transparent background texture to represent the void, I really enjoyed the game

Super creative! The art looks hand drawn, how did you do that?

Developer(+1)

Thanks! The art for the main character is actually hand drawn and digitized. I described the process in a retrospective I wrote if you're interested.

Most definitely! Where can I find it?

One of the most fun game in the jam in my opinion. Silly design but fun.
