Really great game!
I was not prepared for a certain funny song, not this song, aaaahhh!
very fun tower defense game with solid progression, I enjoyed my playthrough
soundtrack feels quite unique too
good job, congrats!
Super solid tower defense, very cool! Theme-wise not the most thoughtful idea, but it was really fun to play!
Really cool tower defense game, functional with no glitches, cool tune. Successfully has the addictive tower defense gameplay loop. It doesn't have a ton of depth and turns into a game of upgrade-the-laser at the end but its a game jam so understandable. Didn't expect to have a final boss, and also the panic button fire everything is really cool. One of the most fun games of the whole jam.
Very fun, got killed by the boss but because I had just used the shoot everything lol, this ability feels very good to use btw and good job on the tower upgrades and sfx.
Suuuuuper duper fun. My favorite part is how the laser sound matches with the music!! That's the best!!!!
This was a really good tower defense. It felt hard but fair. The end was really exciting. I almost lost because I had just used the Fire Everything button a round before!
Obvious things to add are more diverse enemies and even more towers. Maybe towers the freeze or slow. But I think you did a really great job on this, especially if it was your first. Well done!
Cool idea, managed to beat it on the first time through. Was pretty close with the boss tho. I'll do my best to provide constructive feedback :)
- Like others mentioned, stats about the defenses and their upgrades would be a great addition. Its hard to make any kind of strategic decisions when you don't know how the towers differ from each other.
- Also enemy health or some other indication of how close the enemy is to dying, and tower range would be nice to see in this kind of game.
- First I was confused on what I was supposed to do because I didn't read the description with the controls and they are not displayed ingame.
- The aim of the towers seems to lag behind the enemies, especially when shooting from afar (especially noticeable with the "fire everything" ability.)
- Maybe the boss should also go along the route, but that may be a matter of taste.
With that being said, I really liked the music and sound design. The bgm is banging and especially the laser sfx was really satisfying. The sprites and animations are also very cool with a coherent style. Didn't come across any kind of bugs or real issues with the program either
Enjoyed this game. Keep making more games!
The game needs to be more informative:
1. would be nice to see more info on the upgrades, because I have no idea how powerful I am getting with each upgrades.
2. Enemy's health should be displayed
3. Have a display for wave count would be nice, so players can be more strategic on the gameplay
There are also some UI that are not polished enough, for example, when I click on a tower that is on the edge of the screen, part of the upgrade UI is out of the viewport.
I might've been a bit too critical on the review, but I would love to see you return to the jam next month, would love to see your progress on the game dev journey.
Hey Dapqu,
I definitely agree with your feedback. The interface clipping issue was one we saw but didn't have time to learn how to fix. Enemy health was considered as well, along with a tower level indicator. Having actual stats about the upgrades would have been awesome too. Enemy waves i have seen in others, but we didn't even think to implement it this time. Really it all came down to time which i am gathering is kind of the point for game jams.
The main take away for us is that we had fun and learned so much so fast that it was definitely worth the investment. This was our teams first game with very little experience between us and we are pretty happy with the result.
