Pretty fun physics ( ? ) simulator cell-groth-mutation-thingy. Not sure how to call it.
The gameplay was pretty decent and the idea is solid.
I did have a problem however, that the text went by too fast.
A general rule of thumb is to leave the message / dialogue on screen for about the time that it takes you to read out loud 3 times.
the Dialog is linked with the event system, the event system waits for the Dialog to complete before allowing the player to progress to the next event, but while testing the game I sped up the dialog to test out the events, but I forgot to revert it when I exported the game, at the time I had about 2 minutes before the game-jam ended so I didn't have time to find and fix the problem = (
Oh, that's unfortunate.
Friendly tip:
Try to leave at least 2 or 3 hours defore the deadline to create the page and submission. You never know what can go wrong.
Also, I really like the opening visuals. How did you make that?
The game is on theme, i did feel like i was in a void. I have a nagging feeling there is some genius behind this idea, but it is too obscure for me to figure out. I stayed on long enough to get a decent growth rate, but I missed some of the prompts which I felt might have been key in me understanding how to complete the game.
It's interesting, to say the least. Although I couldn't figure out how to play it really...
I like the concept of putting stuff into orbits! not sure what to do with those viruses and anti-viruses
I agree with the other poster, it looked very interesting but I couldn't figure out how to play. The prompts were so fast. What was causing the direction of growth?
Hi, this game is pretty cool.
I have a few suggestions for improvements:
1. The start-up delay is way too long. Players are going to miss the initial outpost.
2. Those prompts at the bottom of the screen are way too fast. I can't even read them!
3. The instructions aren't clear. There's a lot of info on the cells (growth, mutations, etc.), but I have no idea what to do with it.
It looks very interesting, but I'm not sure how to play.
I was working on this game until THE VERY LAST SECOND, and I was unable to do everything I was planning to do = (
(and I forgot to undo all the stuff I had for debugging, that's why the prompts are super fast)
