Cool combo game! I think you did well with difficulty (to throw another opinion into the mix). I think it's very hard to judge in a game jam when you are condensing a full experience into a few minutes. I've had the same problem. I think in a game jam I tend to err on the slightly easier side just because you don't want to turn off potentially short attention spans. We have a lot of games to look at.

Good job, anyway! I like the combination of two games! Next time I would challenge you to add a twist to the snake portion and add some simple animations.

Fun little game. Great first shot! That boss was tough. Thanks for not making me redo the first level after failing. :)

Omg those cinder blocks!!

Fun game for sure. Love the visuals and that void was scary!

My main suggestion is to improve controls. A bit less sensitivity on that sideways movement. Also I think you can add some lerping to the movement.

Hi, great job for a 15 hour game. The camera zooming was definitely the most unique part of this. I liked that. Was that an addon or did you do that yourself? Congrats on the game!

Funny game and great story but the push mechanics were very difficult. Would love to see how this game worked with maybe a "grab" mechanic to link you to the object. Good job!

Great platformer. I love the twist of the added challenge. Interesting use of void.

I ran into a bug where my checkpoint kept respawning me onto a spike and I got soft locked. Just a heads up!

By the way, as a fellow black hole shader guy, how did you do yours. I would love to see. Mine is on my github page in case you wanted to see.

Wow this is a really great adaptation of Paper's Please. Great job. Loved the demonic spin on it. Hilarious!

Haha no problem. I have the same issue with my game. Everyone is commenting that the pickups were hard to catch and I was the same way. I guess when you get in the zone it's hard to notice all the small things! We will keep up the good work though! =)

Yea this is definitely the biggest feedback we are getting. I think the enemy lasers should be red and the pickups should move a bit slower. Thanks!

Thanks for playing. I debating remove this but felt that it was only a few seconds of hindrance. On one hand you would have more visibility, but on the other hand I think it would have taken a bit away from the excitement of the black hole and the 3Dness of the game. Not sure what was the best call but thanks for the feedback!

Thanks! I wonder if a thin white outline would have been appropriate?

Cool text based game. I'm not usually a fan of these but it pulled me in! I think I ended it prematurely though! I need to get back and try to find an alternate ending. Good job.

Well made game. I liked the design and atmosphere. Could definitely see more gameplay emerging from these mechanics.

Haha this game was great. I was getting all twisted by the end of it. Very tough and mind bendy. I think I made it to around 4.5k before it started to get too tough for me. Great idea and great job!

Great game. Very moving. Fantastic job on the visuals and audio as well.

Great game. Good upgrade system. I'm going to be hearing "Pirate detected" in my sleep tonight XD.

I noticed I kept getting money being near the facility. Was this a bug?

Very atmospheric game. Felt very creepy, not sure if that was the vibe you were going for. Like other's said, making the void a little more diverse and maybe giving a meter or goal to show how close you are.

Maybe also not intentional but I found his feet animation hilarious and I loved it.

Good work!

This was a really good tower defense. It felt hard but fair. The end was really exciting. I almost lost because I had just used the Fire Everything button a round before!

Obvious things to add are more diverse enemies and even more towers. Maybe towers the freeze or slow. But I think you did a really great job on this, especially if it was your first. Well done!

The story of phillp starwalker is the greatest story ever told.

(Great job on the jam, loved the mechanic)

Fun game. I got overwhelmed super fast! It's very well put together and looks great though. You did a great job on the visuals!

I agree with the other poster, it looked very interesting but I couldn't figure out how to play. The prompts were so fast. What was causing the direction of growth?

Hi, great job. I liked the theme and the effects you put in.

I would offer two suggestions. I think the monsters hitbox should be disabled when he's dying. Since the game is essentially "timed" the player wants to move as fast as possible and running through a dying enemy and then dying yourself is a little frustrating.

Also, if you are going to have a timed game, I think the slow moving platforms need to be reworked or reset somehow when you die. I ran into a few situations where I just died because the slow moving platform was out of sync with my run. I had to wait for it to come down and just died.

Cool game though otherwise. I had fun!

Very impressive for your first jam! I had a hard time making I think jump 3? Tough for sure. I think add a little more forgiveness in the beginning of the game and some checkpoints. Great job, again! Keep it up.

It worked now! Nice job. That pesky void was messing me up! I liked it, it played well. The only thing I couldn't tell was, what was the difference between a field having a water drop vs having the scribble symbol? Because it seemed like both were solved with adding water.

Good work!

This game was hilarious and wacky. I wouldn't look at this game and go "Void" but it definitely has it's own crazy thematic wonderfulness. I could easily see this being a game about a sausage going through a full kitchen dodging all the crazy things in it. Great time! Good job!

The resolution of my screen is 2560 by 1440 but the browser window is very small. It does not open in a separate window.

The concept was cool. I can tell you put a lot of time into this. I liked having to hide from the lights as that can really led to some great game mechanics.

That being said, I had frustration with the cooldowns. I know the game wildcard was to use cooldowns a lot but I almost think maybe you should scrap that for jump as it can lead to a lot of frustrating scenarios where the input will not respond to the player. Also, differentiating between the different cooldowns will help the player know what they can use and when.

And finally, please make the boxes weigh more or not respond the players movement. I finally got the boxes into position only to tap them and have them go flying in some parts.

Great job!  Keep up the good work.

Sorry I should have been more clear! The game is super zoomed in and I can't see what's going on. I can unpause it but it looks like i am only seeing the top left of the game maybe?

That's two people that didn't know the stuff was void energy! Good to know! Thanks for the comment and play :)

Hi, I followed a tutorial on medium.com about black holes effects in Godot. The purple background was generated with noise textures through a space skybox tool. Thanks for playing :)

Hey thanks for the detailed feedback! Intersting, it did not occur to me that people would dodge the pickups. Good to get that perspective.

We could definitely make the controls for keyboard stand out more. Maybe even switching them to the right.

Definitely agree on weapon cooldown could be more noticeable. Maybe the tip of the ship could get hotter.

The accretion disk was a side affect of the way we made the game but we decided to leave it in as it only blocked vision for a few seconds and we felt it would be a little exciting.

Great Game. I love the concept. Art, music, both great. Maybe a little bit of improvement on the controls but still overall great job.

Great start! Try adding more effects and making the absorb more impactful!

Hey, I can't see any of the game :(

This game was super cool! I liked that one part (no spoilers) By the end I was wishing there was more too it. Great job on the jam!

Interesting concept. Timed 3d platformer. Felt like rising lava type game. I felt like to controls were a bit too sensitive and the jump cooldown was a bit too long. Were you supposed to not be able to jump when the jet was cooling down?

Great job! :) I love small touches with all the animations and sounds.

Great job! My only complaint is trying to memorize all the things I'd already tried! But I do see an argument for this way, gotta keep track of what you've done! Great idea, keep it up!

I like this game. I love the animations and I had fun pushing the enemies back. I'm sure you could have incorporated forging a little bit more though!
