Game Description
Grow plants to reach the sky!

How does your game tie into the theme?
Our game is meant to have randomness related to how the plants grow and from that the type of flower that would bloom would differ and be unexpected. The user can try to influence the plant to try and bloom into a flower that they want, but that may not happen.

cool simulation. maybe add some animations for like the rain dropping once a simulation maybe. goes well with the jam, but hasn't got much else going on. you could add some flower variety(different colors and different growing patterns) and sound effects to juice it up.

Thanks for playing our game ! Your feedback is appreciated !
We had a background set up to display different images and animations based on seasons and their weather but didn't have time to create assets to use it. Glad to see that we had similar ideas !
We were planning on having plants "bloom" based on conditions that the player have to discover, just as the basic plant converts to a Magic  Beanstalk once it reaches the sky. Making regular flowers bloom with a random color and shape would have been cool indeed !
Making and using sound effects is definitely a skill that I have to learn !

It's a shame that the game is silent and doesn't explain anything. But I love simulations <3

Developer

Appreciate the feedback :) Unfortunately we didn't make it very far into coding everything we wanted into our game, but if we keep working on it, we will add in some details and explanations.

cool little simulation! it not very clear what the cover does, but it was fun to watch grow!

Developer

Thanks for playing our game :D The goal of the cover was block certain elements from interacting with the plants. For example, we wanted to add in seasons and have it block out snow. Another idea was to have a flower that would bloom in the dark, but unfortunately we barely got to have even 2 flowers in the game.

This is a great concept, and can be easily worked out more as a cosy relaxing game. Maybe have a topdown view where you can trim weeds for example?

Developer

Thanks for the comment! :) We were on our way to add more varieties of flowers, and wanted some interactions between the different plants as well as seasons but the making the base structure of the code took us more time than expected.

It always does :)
