Good mechanic once you realize the light will make the boats go faster. I was just swinging the light around at start :D

It gets harder to get past the level. maybe add the bank in a way if you can't get past a level and need to repeat it, you would cumulate some amount of money from previous tries, so it doesn't become impossible because chosen upgrades are not enough from previous levels.

Thank you! Music was outsourced, but all the sound effects were made by me, except the duck quack sound.

I'm using Mac so it says for the executable that "Apple cannot check it for malicious software." I think it means there is no developer certificate attached to the executable software.
I tried Safari-browser too. same thing than with Firefox. buttons don't register clicking nor hovering over them.

It maybe something to do with shaders. As my game doesn't work with the shaders on on chrome-browsers. luckily my game has toggle for this and it is not game-breaking to not have them on. just an extra feature. It is maybe related to that firefox can handle the GLES shaders or something and other browsers do it different and crash.

I think the last jump was challenging but also some other jumps you need to double jump were bit hard to execute.

can't get past the menu screen with firefox. can't touch the buttons, they don't register clicking. On Edge-browser I can see a dot and a black screen. nothing much else. music plays on background. :(

cute ducks! add some music and sound effects. maybe even animation. juice it up! good job on jam!

oh I'm so bad at memory games :D but nice it still shows the previous path.

Very good use of the theme. It's not easy say the least. Good light control as a resource kinda. puzzle and platformer in same.

pressing z-key crashed my firefox-browser oh well let's try other browser. Edge-broser works luckily.

funny quacky gameplay. jumps are bit hard to do on small platforms. also some lights still get me even if they seem to be off. Good job with gamejam though!

if jump is just barely possible to do that maybe not a good design as players may get frustrated to try again and again. maybe instead of light blocking your way, kill the vampire when they hit the light and respawn it at start or at a checkpoint near. other than that good game. Good work for gamejam!

ooooo a mini metroidvania! nice job. I love it! I like the jump mechanic/ weight of color. Good song, repeats really well and the pitch change works very well here. Also the ending haha :D

fast gameplay, maybe add crosshair as it is first-person-shooter? i can't really see where the bullets go. you die easily, hard to get through :D maybe it's not just my type of game as I'm bad at FPS. good job with the gamejam though, there's lots going on.

I like the intro and tutorial. Nice animations.

wow the enemies move fast! :D maybe even too fast. also player's movement is very fast. spell selection is bit tricky IMO. Maybe you could pause or slow the gameplay when selecting spell. Everything happens so fast it is hard to get far, I know that is probably the point, but it is way too fast and players may get frustrated easily because of that. Give them some time to breath and think of their options.

You have something intresting going on here. keep it going! :) good job with the gamejam!

Maybe add WASD to movement controls as option as it is more common than arrow-keys. You could move Action-key to some other like E or Enter-key.

I like you introduce new mechanics one by one each level. So it's not too overwhelming. only 4 levels? please add more :D

Did you make the art yourself? looks nice. Good job on the gamejam!

Yeah. I tried to have the screenshake to minimum, but noticable still. Maybe should have added it to the settings as disable option. Thanks for the feedback!

best voice acting ever! :D

oooh so scary :)

I think there is some non-visible walls that make it little bit frustrating to play. but other than that it is fun to try to avoid the robots and find the switch. maybe add a story why the robots are chasing you in the darkness?

is there more levels to this? simple and easy to learn concept. works well with the theme.

it is bit unclear where you can jump. light areas are quite big and come suddenly. maybe have some indication what areas will have light at some point to indicate it is dangerous. maybe have grass showing there as indication of melting snow and spring coming. I like the simple nature of the game though.

I got same problem than Jorel. screen doesn't have enough space probably to close the messages-container. Not really sure what you are suppose to do exactly, even though I read the messages and fiddled around with the boxes. but it looks interesting.

fun tower defence. maybe add some quality of life improvements like: hotkeys for buttons, upgrade multiple or random towers that are not upgraded yet.

towards the end on day 8 i got a fox on daytime side but got still killed.

its bit hard to select squirrel nests maybe make the selection area bigger.

towards the end I got so many creatures going all around that it started lag the game. maybe don't add all the animals going around on daytime, limit the amount to reasonable amount visible. I got so many bird and squirrels. :D

I got to day 12 and it become so laggy I couldn't go any longer.

Good job on the game jam!

It works this way: whenever a red-light-object is picked up it decides randomly what effect is put on or off. every odd is effect that is related to player like speed and midas-touch and every even collected red-light is environment effect like camera-switch and angle. And same effect can't be the next effect than what was switched last time on.

I made it so some wear of like camera changes back to the third-person-camera after a while. So does the hyperspeed wears off after a while. I thought they were little bit too much if they would have gone for too long.

I could have added some status-bar as indicator how long they last. Maybe every effect could be just a temporary effect with timer instead switching on and off.

The one level where you get Rook. you can soft-block yourself in the middle by falling and not get back up. almost forgot you can press R to reset.. Maybe show controls in some corner or something.. You could make the gameplay little easier by not needing to click on the chess-piece before moving it.(but yeah, there is a reason after all for this in one of the levels.) Some levels it's hard to see further ahead. maybe make the camera move with the mouse or draggable so can see more of the play area ahead or have the full level visible in the camera space and camera locked in place. anyway good puzzles. great job!

little bit hard to see where I'm going as the camera lags behind. maybe move the camera bit forwards to the direction of movement as it is going quite speed for such a small screen area. Controls feel slippery. of course these camera and controls can be a game mechanic and a choice. The spikes are bit unfair as they pop just before you walk over them. with the speed you can go it is not possible to avoid them in time the first time you touch them. I didn't even see the spikes the first time I walked over them. Also you can just hit the side of the block that is spikes and get respawned to the start, which is probably not intended. Music stops playing, maybe make it looping track. I just can't get past the spike-level. sorry. but good job for a gamejam-game! it is mostly fledged out to be playable otherwise.

the game's UI doesn't scale to fullscreen in the score screen, but it is ok.

Interesting way to use the light and dark. this could be extended with many special effects for each light and dark modes and more variety in each area and upgrades etc. Good job!

the animation changing between forms is very nice.

day and night switches so quick. maybe add some more seconds there and a sound that indicates it is switching soon(like a countdown sound with increasing or lowering sound), so the player is more prepared when the switch happens so they have time to move to a good spot.

good idea for game to have dual-duck-gameplay! Cute artstyle and calm music! Though my speakers started to crackle for some reason and game started to lag behind after a while. Are you instantiating nodes more and more that are not deleted of what is happening? Then the game just crashed on the second level.
I like the intro. maybe add some sounds there. may not need a text even as it is somewhat self-explanatory.

Good job!

seems little repetative. maybe add different enemies and environments and guns and bullets and so on and it is a good bullet-hell game or something. Good job for a jam though!

I got out of bounds by flying forwards of the screen and to the left or right.

like pdil said, maybe add space-key as shooting button or just make it autoshoot constantly as I was just helding the button down all time.

You can add little variety to the bullet shoot sound by lowering the pitch randomly by small degree.

interesting, got stuck to the level 4 with traps. the second with the traps. first one was fiddly and this one seems to be even more harder to manage. but Interesting concept. maybe make more easier levels first to build up the understand of each rule and how they work. get someone to playtest your game when it is in development. good job!

Nice ambience with lights and shadows and music.

Thank you! I got more ideas, but some of them would have been hard to fit in within jam's time and life got in a way so this is what we got. :D glad you liked it!

Really interesting game. Kinda like puzzle. more levels plz! :D

Hello! I made another game with your music in it: https://jukepoks1.itch.io/untitled-box-challenge

Thank you. I know it is a bit chaotic, balancing this was bit hard as most of the effects happen in random order. Earlier it was in specific order, but it started to get too familiar to me. But I guess it wouldn't be so bad for a this size of game either.

Thank you!

Used one of your songs in my game for game-jam: https://jukepoks1.itch.io/berry-moon
Thanks for the good music!

Haha! xD

Thank you!
