Game Description
Keep your beach tourists in the shade by moving, rotating, buying or even sharing parasols.

How does your game tie into the theme?
The core mechanic is to protect all tourists from the sunlight, by keeping them in darkness ( = the shadows). Everything else (powerup activation, clouds blocking sunlight, parasol shape matters for shadow shape, etcetera) ties into that core too.

This game is so cute, I love the style. It was really fun but I found it very hard to read the interactive info cards. It took me 2-3 playthrough to finally understand all the mechanics -- but once I got them, the gameplay was very engaging. I loved protecting the little ducks from getting burnt. Great take on the theme!

The game looks and sounds absolutely beautiful. The controls were a little bit odd at first, but I think that was mostly due to the uniqueness of the gameplay mechanics.

I had a really good time playing this. My only issue was with the tutorial boxes. I did not realize that the game had started when the 3 tutorial images popped up until a duck died. The way they are darkened makes sense for the game.. But for some reason I thought that meant the game was paused and was waiting for them to get bright. and when the next ones popped up I was not able to read them all the way because I had umbrellas over some of the words and they left the screen just before I could get them both moved off.

I liked the theme of the game, protecting the ducks from the sun is very fun idea,

Pros:

- The game's art is pretty beautiful

- The game is fun and kind of reminds me of party games like Overcooked

Cons:

- The controls can be a bit clumsy in some parts, having the drop the parasol button and call ducks button be on the same one got in the way some times when i tried to drop it close to the ducks.

- It's kinda frustrating when you die in later levels you restart from the beginning, i think there needed to have some kind of checkpoint

Solid submission like it pretty much, died on the last level tough T-T

Love the animation of burning ducks !  Controls are a little bit tricky, at least the spacebar as it's used to drop, rotate and call but you grab parasol but you grab parasol only when walking through them ^^' many times I was calling ducks with space but wanted to grab parasol (I think the area of grab is not all along the height ?) But anyway, cool game ! Really nice arts too :)

Love what you did with the theme and the story of where your inspiration came from. As your downstairs neighbor (from Belgium) I totally get it. Rotating the parasols took some getting used to. Having the upgrades turn into curses when you don't have enough gold was a clever use of the wildcard.
