Super cute! Love the music and you made the minimal assets really work. The controls were mushy feeling, I think too much momentum was kept so you slide around, and I suspect the spike collision boxes encompass the spikes. I recommend making those a little smaller to favor the player so it feels like you just barely made it.
I hope you keep working on it, would love to see more levels, as well as gamepad support. Keep up the good work!
I really appreciated the seamless tutorial as you gathered more tools, but I felt like on the third floor I had to figure out the wall slide and double jump mechanic on my own.
I might of missed text explaining it…
This was a really cool game though.
The teleport was a neat mechanic. The hand drawn style endearing. I wish there was a bit more and maybe some animation. There was one level that took some struggle to figure out. I think you could have added another learning level before that one that had lower stakes. Over all a good job on your first entry in the jam!
Thanks for the game.
A very fun little game! I'd recommend not giving file names spaces, they can be a hassle to deal with on the user's end.
It's such a cute little game. :) I loved the game mechanic of being able to teleport. I thought it would make the game too easy to get through but I found it the right amount of challenging. It was engaging but not too frustrating. I was able to figure out pretty quickly what the blue blocks meant but there wasn't a formal introduction to them in the game. I also didn't realize that using the teleporter stopped me mid-fall. I had to figure that out on my own. I would just suggest finding a way to introduce that a bit better.
I loved the graphics and the audio. The audio made it feel really fun. I really liked that you had a background that made the world look bigger.
