The game really looked promising until the fight started. Just spamming space is not a good gameloop.

It would have been good challenge to get the bugs killed before they transform. The transformed form could have had like attack mode. Less enemies in this situation would have been better.

I wanted to run the game from the engine(github), but it just crashed.

Was really fun, graphics and sounds are amazing. Enemies multiply waaaaayyy too quickly, can't seems to find how to get past the second screen. But very nice entry to the jam, loved the ambiance :D

Looks and sounds great and it's a nice premise.

But the fact that enemies spawn more enemies forever makes the game too difficult and laggy quickly. Limiting how many children enemies spawn and maybe even spawning enemies that do not spawn themselves would make it much more enjoyable.

...and overwhelmed I have been!

Very nice art for this cute small game. Congrats for your first jam, you nailed it!

I liked the art and the interaction feedback from stuff like combat! Unfortunately, the big enemies had too much health and I couldn't get past the second room.
