Game Description
It's your second day as the local blacksmith's apprentice, and it's time to show off what you can do! Use everything from an anvil to a drill press to make the best weapon you can and show you've got what it takes in this chill simulation game. Oh, and don't mind Alan, he's harmless. He's just sad he didn't get the apprenticeship too. How does your game tie into the theme?
Blacksmithing is inherently metamorphasis because it's changing raw materials into something completely different in usage and appearance.

Wow, what did you use to make the mechanism of morphing the metal?? That was super impressive!! Also, the game super nice and cozy, really enjoyed the vibe. Great work!! :D
Haha, thanks! The metal morphing is just a Polygon2D w/ texture, with an attached script that generates a bunch of polygon points on the top. When you hit the metal with the hammer, the script grabs the closest polygon point (+ a few neighbors depending on the hammer type), and pushes them down by however hot the metal is - and lerps the neighbors down by how far from the hammer the neighbor is.. also updates a matching collision polygon’s points for detecting when the metal “fits” into the depicted shape.
Good game, nice use of minigames here! I really liked the art style, it felt very polished for how short the jam was, and the idea behind the game was great. Music and sound design were superb too!
I had some issues with controls: Esc key for closing dialogue conflicts with "exit fullscreen" in browser, and I kept getting trapped inside anvil collision in this place (moving up from trashcan) and had to restart:
Ah thanks for the feedback! Sorry about those bugs. It’s too bad we used the escape key on the dialog, because it’s also clickable lol. I always forget about exiting full screen.
Colliders… it’s always colliders.. haha appreciate the comments and the play!
A really cute game, so many mini-games built in...crazy you managed all of that in such a short amount of time! Nice job!
I thought the metal working system was really cool! I think I soft locked myself somehow, but the concept was really really cool! Nice submission!
I love how you have implemented working the metal into the right shapes
As I was playing the camera kept shifting until my character was no longer visible. Sadly I was not able to complete my dream of becoming a blacksmith. Nice idea. Very unique.
Oh dang, we didn't encounter that bug at all.. What were you doing when that happened? Would love to figure that out. Thanks for your time anyhow and I hope you're able to give it another try and it runs alright for you :/ Thank you again!
This is a fantastic game! Loved the take on the theme. It was cozy, and felt really polished. The metal shaping was pretty challenging, and I'm still not 100% sure how it works, but it was a lot of fun. Keep up the great work! This one's a contender for the best game, imo.
Wow, thank you so much! Appreciate your time playing and leaving feedback! We worked so hard and stayed up late many nights, to see this wonderful comment is really validating that it was worth it, haha. Thank you!
