Rated your game, hope you will rate my game too…
That was a hard game but also fun blasting my way through the levels 😀.
Gameplay
It took a lot of tries before I got past the 3 balls....😅 Eventually in the rooms after the balIs I used more the tactic of getting the diamonds as fast as possible than attacking the enemies. If I tried the latter I was dead in no time.
I think that was also because the controls didn't work very intuitively for me. I was always shooting in the wrong direction and had to turn the mouse while trying to use WASD. Don't know if more people had this problem or if it was just me. It was, despite the many death frustrations😁, fun to play and try to get some more progress.
A few more types of powerups in terms of weapons might have been nice too.
Graphics
The game looked very nice. Nicely designed levels and the characters were also diverse. Animations and particle effects present and good.
Audio
Nice catchy soundtrack and the sound effects together formed a good package.
Theme
The enhance I found a bit less. Was more, like someone also wrote, a sort of key. Real weapon powerups might have done that better justice.
Devlog
Nice (little) devlog
Overall nice hectic shooter and definitely something that could be built on with updates💪.
Great game, I loved this game…
don’t forget to leave a rating!
Sure, done.
Hope you would rate my game too.
I really enjoyed this one! Was a blast to play, although I encountered a frequent bug of getting stuck inside of the rolling enemies and even respawning inside of them when I died so I automatically died on respawn and had to start the game over. I loved the visuals and design for each of the levels. Thank you for making this game I had it was a lot of fun to play!
Loved the art style , I like the implementation of checkpoints, made me cope with dying a lot easier haha. Nice devlog too , looking forward to seeing more from you
game world was setup nice and went good with the music of it all. I guess I can see how the player is becoming enhanced but it felt at times just like getting a key to get through a level.
anyways solid entry!
p.s. insightful devlog :)
love the art and the main music theme is great - the empowered one didn't really feel super fitting to me. I have to admit I got hard stopped by the room with three rollers, which felt real tough for that early on. Combination of a lack of i-frames, delay on getting to pickup multiple crystals, slow player movement (and no ability to move out of the way I think?), and as far as I can tell a complete inability to hurt the ball guys outside of energized mode?
i'm curious to see if/how it would've developed beyond that point and would happily revisit if there's something obvious about beating those guys!
Yeah, I hear what you’re saying. Idk if you noticed but the player would have a red outline when you got hit. Those were supposed to be the i-frames but I didn’t even notice that they didn’t seem to be working properly until after I submitted. I’ll be sure to fix those whenever I get back to this project!
also, the baller enemies are meant to act as a tougher enemy. They were meant to be invincible until you became enhanced. I do admit tho that putting 3 of them in one room might’ve been a bit much lol.
I'm not sure the i-frames didn't work at all, just that i didn't feel there was enough for me to deal with that situation, though it's worth checking. I do think that room is possible to beat btw, just I wasn't able to. One thing I didn't mention is I was impressed with all the various shader effects - I don't know how necessary seeing feet through the bushes was, but it was a real professional looking touch :)
Enjoyed the game! I felt really frustrated sometimes when after death i was respawned being stuck between two big bubble enemies and died again :D I would be place them at spawn position after death, i guess, like in a last room. But anyway, i really liked art of the game and most of them all - Music. Liked music so much. For some reason it reminded me of a first Ratchet and Clank game's music. Is there a soundcloud or spotify of other works of Xanderpitz?
Thank you so much for playing and leaving your playback! I agree that some of the levels can be very frustrating with some of the enemy placements but we didn't have too much time to further polish that :( Also, I told Xander about your feelings on his music and he very much appreciates it. This is his SoundCloud if you're interested: https://soundcloud.com/alex-kopitz
Nice one, love the graphics so much, these remember me to spiral knigth and the gameplay was so brilliant.
Nice idea with the ENHANCE to get enought power to unlock the doors x3
The devlog, really nice to see gif test of the progress and functions individually.
