Most of my feedback was given verbally during my stream, however the few small things I'll say is I wish you could move faster, and some direction to the next objective would be nice. (although I think that is already in another version)
My biggest complaint is that the game didn't seem to like being set to higher graphics levels initially, as I couldn't water the planters even though I waited for the water to stop flowing from the taps before leaving to water the planter. I ran into no problems if I did the first few planters with graphics set to a low level, then swapped to epic/cinematic.
It's a fun game to pass the time, though, and the visuals are stunning if you can get it running smoothly in epic/cinematic mode.
I love the idea of being a bucket and having to water the drains. For some reason, I broke the game on several levels though. The camera glitching with the terrain was very uncomfortable with my simulation sickness.
I'm really impressed that you were able to put together a 3D game in such a short time, with terrain height variation and everything!
I was confused at first by the water gathering. I was looking at the meter on the side of the robot which fills up long before it is actually ready. Only after skimming comments, I realized it wasn't full and that was why I couldn't water the terrain.
In the future, it would be really cool if the surrounding terrain also changed beyond the small circle when you water. For example, the texture could slightly change to a slightly more luscious color. Was the plants and trees that popped up procedurally generated where they go? It felt like that was the case since at one point a flower popped up where the drain was, and that is a hefty thing to mess with in a game jam!
I could see this being such a vibe/chill game if you decided to continue development on it.

Yeah, the beginning is a bit confusing, made a note to add a tutorial to figure it out. As for more stuff to do, that is definitely planned. Stuff like collecting and transporting fruit to a gathering post and then use that to buy or create upgrades or build filling stations or planters yourself.
The terrain is kinda bugged and that it changes outside the watered areas is not intended... I could make the areas bigger to fill more the plains but the dunes and mountains are supposed to stay barren and yellow/gray...
Yes, the plants spawn procedurally around the planter which can result in spawns on the planter itself ;P To prevent that I would need to check the spawn point for every plant, not something for the timeframe of the jam.
Lots of things planned as mentioned, i had three notes for the jam version and now a page full of things to add (and evaluate if possible in a few weekends).
You clearly put a lot of effort to this, and I think it shows! Your world was very pretty, the robot was super cute, and I loved the little desert forests! It was so relaxing to scoot around watering the desert while hanging out with chat.
I really can't wait to see what you do with this moving forward! Keep us posted, and thanks for the submission :D
This is a very neat concept. There was certainly a lot of effort put into this, and it shows. I was thrown off at first how the sprint button was a toggle and not a hold button, so I would have liked to have seen that as an option in the settings. I also noticed the game seemed to work well with a controller to some extent (probably some Unreal defaults), so it would have been nice to see mapping for sprint and pause added for a controller as well. I did have an issue with the camera controls in the jam version, but it seems to have been fixed with the v0.1.4 build. Side note: the v0.1.4 build is not flagged as a windows release, so I can't install it with the Itch app, so I'd appreciate it if that was fixed.
The game was quite interesting, with having to find all the locations to water. Two things I'd suggest going forward are: 1) Have some sort of tutorial at the beginning. Maybe something like an arrow pointing you to the location to get water and to the first watering spot. 2) I think it would be interesting to have some sort of obstacles to getting to the watering spots. Maybe something like enemies or traps you have to avoid. I did have fun with this game overall, but I feel like there could have been more to do given the number of spots that need to be watered.
The patched build is now tagged as windows release and should be accessible with the itch app.
A tutorial is a good idea and will be added in a later version, as for obstacles, not sure if it fits the vision. There are more mechanics planned but enemies and traps are not on the list so far.
I went a bit overboard with the amount of plant spreaders/watering spots... this will also be addressed at a later version, fewer spots to start with and then the ability to expand.
All this needs is a radio, and a higher top speed, and I would happily water the entire wasteland!

What do you mean by radio? there will be background music in a later version, i intent to continue on the game.
A radio system with different songs might be an issue as it would involve the acquisition of songs and music packs that are not in my budget atm... hm, maybe some cruising music might be possible ;)
I intent to add upgrades that would include higher speeds and maybe even setting up planters yourself as well as more buildable filling stations...
some big plans ahead... ;P
Oh I wasn’t seriously suggesting adding a radio, just trying to imply that I found your game as relaxing as I find driving a long trip with the radio on :) (very relaxing)
Very pretty! 17 planters was perhaps a few too many ;), and it was kind of confusing that the water bar would fill up before you were actually full of water. Figured it out tho!

Yes, could be reduced when there is more to do besides just bringing water to planters... was more planned but temporarily cut due to time constrains...
I dig the concept, very Wall-E. The main menu did NOT like my mouse though, never displayed a cursor. Looking forward to seeing stuff added!
oh, try clicking in the window anyways, it should notice the click. This is an unreal issue sometimes, will try to fix it for the next patch but as this would be outside the jam time, i cannot just patch it now. might add a new file with a note...
I did do that and play the game, and the cursor was fine everywhere else, it was just the main menu that didnt display it. Was a weird bug but didnt stop me from playing
Have provided a patched version as v0.1.4 and that version should not have the cursor issue anymore. Is a separat file to keep the original entry intact.
