cool but difficult game...maybe add checkpoints to make it a bit easier

Developer

Every room is a checkpoint technically, so i dont think its possible to add more

Thanks for the feedback! :)

It's nice that this was your first game, since it's also pretty nice! This jam was actually also my first ever jam and my first ever game! So, we both have something in common :))

Developer

Oh, that’s cool! :)

Difficult game but I liked it, nice job!

Developer

Thanks!

Cool platformer game, I like the art and game play is fun even though it gets really difficult early on. Here are some thoughts I had when playing..

  • The fall seems somewhat slow, which also makes falling to your death take a long time
  • Using mouse click for dash when everything else is keyboard feels out of place

I finished a few levels then I got to level where it seemed impossible (at least to me) to finish the level as it required me to jump higher than spikes in my way, which I had no clue how to do. I'll post a pic on your forum post.

About the resolution, it's better to set the initial resolution to something like 1280x720 (check my game) instead of 1920x1080 or so and allow the players to maximize the game instead.

Anyways, good job for such short game jam 👍

Developer

Thanks for the feedback!

You can actually use K to dash if you don’t wanna use the left mouse!

Yeah, the fall is a bit slow. I probably could’ve increased the max fall speed, but then the dash would feel terrible to control, so it was a rock and a hard place situation, faster falling or better dash?

I was gonna have the resolution be normal, but I overlooked it too late and made the rooms too big for the standard resolution so I had to expand it (Godot Fullscreen Settings are absolutely weird, honestly.)

Good game! The game is a little difficult and I didn't make it very far, but I still enjoyed it! Good job!

Developer

Thank you!

Nice game! It was a bit difficult but it’s fun. The graphics for the first few levels remind me of the virtual boy. Well Done!

Developer(+1)

Thanks! Yeah, it gives off a tiny bit of virtual boy vibes 😅

I actually almost added a green world so then you would get gameboy vibes too!

You were able to make a really cool game!

The game was quite difficult, but very unusual.

For a first game, it's super cool!

GREAT JOB!

Thank you!

I'm super bad playing this kind of games so I couldn't get too far haha
But I really enjoyed it

Developer

Thank you!

These types of games are pretty hard, i dont blame you for not reaching the end lol

i like this game a lot. but the dash could be improved, tho i get this is your first game and it has some mistakes in it. for your first game, Pretty cool Platformer!

Developer

Thank you!

Yeah, i was gonna try to improve the dash a lot more before the deadline by having diagonal dashes be easier and having momentum be sustained a little but i had to prioritize designing the rooms

This is a very well done Celeste-Type game!

Good Job!

Developer(+1)

Thank you!

I love such platformers, the performance is also good.

Developer

Thank you!

Very fun! Reminds me of celeste! I kind of wish that jump was W/Up Arrow rather than space though.

Developer

I was inspired heavily by Celeste, so that's why it reminds you of it! :P

I've been made aware of some people preffering different mappings not present in my game, so i might make a patch with new mappings soon.
Thanks for your feedback! :D

It's really great for a first game ! I think the dash with the left click is unintuitive,  try to make the characther move with the arrow, jump with space and dash with a key like Z.

Developer

Thank you for the feedback!

I think personally that the dash mapping is fine as is, but i appreciate your input regarding the mapping.

I might do a patch where i add more mappings soon, im still considering it

I see the inspiration, and maybe you could have been more in the theme, but anyway great game ! Music and sprite are amazing btw

Developer(+1)

I was absolutely inspired by Celeste (i have 100%'d it actually too (GOLDEN BERRIES DONT COUNT))

I agree, i could've done more with the theme apart from time-based challenges and 3 walljumps only, if i had a few more days i probably would've added something more

Thanks for your feedback! :D

A cool little game with some really nice art :D I enjoyed playing this, well done

Developer

Thank you so much!

The art was made in Procreate and was so tedious to export, luckily i was able to do it and made the game turn out visually solid :D

I have this error when trying  to launch the game :

I hope you will succeed to correct it

Developer(+1)

Hm, ill look into it

Developer

Okay, try downloading the newly added .zip files from the page now, it should work hopefully.

If not, wait an hour or two and ill upload an HTML5 version

Submitted(+1)

Thank you I will wait for the html5 version, good luck!

Developer

The HTML5 version is out!

Submitted(+1)

I will try it

Developer

In case you all are wondering, the way I used the 3-2-1 theme for this game was that

1 - I made all level obstacles time-based
2 - this is kind of an unintended implementation of the theme but I made it so you can’t wall jump more then 3 times

It’s not the best use of the theme, but I tried my best!
