Description
A track about coming across the ancient woods, and discovering beings far older than the trees themselves. Based around the general atmosphere of the text and image prompt for this jam.

Description of Setup (Optional)
The primary goal of this track/mix was to emphasize the sheer scale of the "spirits", entities I imagined being taller than skyscrapers. I pushed the low end with tons of iterative saturation/distortion to create explosive earthquakes and drones, ducking foley and glitch elements to peek through the resulting sausage waveform. Some notable mix techniques used include a multi-band reverb affecting only the highs of non-bass elements, and a spectral clipper on the master blasting everything to 0 on the sub drops.

I do really like what you are trying to do here, However i really did have to turn the volume down because its quite loud, and I can hear a bit of clipping in the audio that I do not know if it is intentional or not. I liked most of your sound choices you worked with here, but the bass can sometimes get heavy in a way that combined with the volume issue i had made it feel exceedingly muddy.
That being said, again I did really enjoy this and the concept behind it. I think especially that breath cutting everything off was a cool detail, and this piece is full of things like that!
Alrighty. You get the "the better something sounds, the more critical feedback I have to offer" treatment. Haha.
Mix quality is through the roof. You're performing magic here, where it starts to sound like it's clipping but its like its totally intentional and works incredibly well. I think perhaps that effect was maybe used more than necessary. Your insane sense of space is absolutely apparent. I love how well your ears are trained.
At 1:39 I think my ear wants more with that bass line coming back in, like playing a crunchy bass note an octave or a sixth below it, and maybe a bass hit that reverberates for a long time to pull all the elements together and develop on what came before it.
I actually had a an idea for the voices that come in there too... what if you increased the stereo width dynamically so that it moves from the center to the sides? Something about this spot I want to have it come in and expand the space, like maybe the reverb size is increased here. Whatever the case - this spot to me feels like it's the climactic moment when the core piece of this world is revealed.
Fantastic work!
this is what I love deep bass, interesting sound design, immersive atmosphere, and cool sound quality.
Hey! I did a review of your entry via video. I posted it on the Jam discord but appreciate everyone might not be on there. Here's the video timestamp for your entry: https://youtu.be/1-aLhBdNCKE?t=14672
That breath cutting off everything else towards the beginning is easily my favorite part of the whole piece. It really centers everything to this smaller scale before widening out again, and you really get that size and scale you were going for as a result. Really cool stuff
Really cool soundscape with all the different things happening andAbsolutely mind numbingly good production quality!
Stellar work!
Absolutely insane sound design and mix. The processing of well everything is immaculate lots of small details very pleasant to hear. The big kick is so satisfying. Cyperpunk/futuristic Northern song for me, super cool. Well done !
Mushroom trip music with a Xamanic Bass and some creepy wood vibes. One of my favorite tunes right here. great song, only thing it is too short on time :)
