Description
For the Impressions Composing Jam: Ambience #2.
Theme ("The Lost City")
Really dig that synthetic voice sound on Villa de la laine, and really cool atmosphere overall on these.
Good stuff!
Fantastic entry. I loved the sound design in these. Let's see:
Ville de la laine: great story telling, i enjoyed a lot the development with different parts: intro, arrival, action/combat, expectance/contemplation and finally the ending. The rasping growling sounds at the intro work great, and also the bells signalling the arrival to the city were awesome. Everything feels not only exotic but also alien, as you seemed to be aiming for with your art. Track packed with ideas.
Perdu dans les ruines: I loved the whistle kind of sound, and all the rumbling, crumbling athmosphere surrounding me. The steps half mechanical half organic in the background provide a great base, and the echoing birds chirping have great sound design.
Last but not least, beautiful thumbnail art, which reminds me of Moebius's work.
Good job!
Very cool ambiance, nicely crafted. Like the other says maybe only some synths were a bit harsh and second track could've tone down couple of mid frequency to make it breath a litle more in the mix but other than that, great soundscapes with really nice moments. Good job.
These are really cool ambiences! This kind of music is difficult for me to compose, but definitely taking notes here if I ever decide to do another jam like this.
You have some very cool sounds, using inharmonicity really well to create a sense of atmosphere.
Some of those synths get a bit harsh - managing higher overtones to create atmosphere can be tricky.
It's still a really cool vibe you created here. I like the microtonal whistle sounds in the second track quite a bit as well. This is also done well.
Awesome work!
