Description
A teenager dream to climb a mountain come true in her paper drawings. Now she must climb it to the top to write her story and foresee what will happen in her life.

Soundtrack made for the Impressions Composing Jam, made from scratch. The initial idea was to write 3 pieces (one for the beginning of the climbing journey, one for reaching the top and on for the aftermath). The track i finished for the jam is the first one.

The genre i thought was a platformer inspired by Celeste, but with a notebook sketch art style and with a choice between two paths at each milestone. In the end, the sum of the choices would be used to tell a story as a cutscene, with each different path in the tree of choices representing what the teenager thinks will happen in her adult life.

Texture and composition definitely make an interesting atmosphere.

There are a couple of places where it goes out of rhythm, though this does imply that you're using a MIDI controller, which lends itself well to the overall composition and sound.

I definitely like the vibe and composing. This is some really solid work overall. The Lofi feels on purpose more than accidental, which is good.

It's definitely a bop too. Really well done!

Thanks for the feedback. I'm going back in this work later to polish the details and finish the second track of the project!

Texturally and harmonically this is really unique.  Great choice of instruments and you're not stuck in a single key, you're pulling all sorts of fun chords from different keys.  The rhythm is really well done.  The only thing I'm not a fan of is that "clicking" percussive noise that sounds almost like clipping to me, it's kind of distracting.  Aside from that, this was one of my favorite listens.  Great job!!

Interesting pad sound you have, I don't know if it was intentional but the ryhmic feels off a bit on the kick maybe its just an illusion and its swing a little bit. Some chords at the beginning was a bit weird but the more we listened to it the more everything was taking its place which I like. I think at the end the marimba is defenitely a little too loud at some point, other than thats its pretty unique.

Might seem a brutal comment but since its unranked I went all in to give my opinion, so don't be offended it seems alot but its a nice track overall :)

I appreciate your feedback! Yeah, i think the Marimba is a bit loud in the last "chorus". I'm gonna take a look at it later!

Really cool song, especially enjoyed the the growling bass.

I really like how the song develops and grows. I like the middle and end sections a lot more than the beginning, at first I thought the percussion in the start was  unintentional clipping and the silence in the start also seemed out of sorts. For the percussion at the start maybe giving it a little bit of resonance or pitch might help to make it sound closer to the percussion in the later parts of your track but still different.

Thanks for the feedback! I'll figure something out for the beginning when i finish the second track and mix everything properly :)

WOW

Definitely - I love the style of your project! There's something about it with the vibe of something big and electronic and computerized (until a piano-like instrument shows up and starts reminding me I'm human :_ )
It's cool, creative and melodic! I especially like THIS BASS OH MY GOD I LOVE THIS BAS OOOOOOOH

Cool :>
