Developer Feedback Questions
Is difficulty too hard? Or is it fine? I am an ace platformer player so I made the levels according to my skill, haha.

Hi, wrote a review on the wrong page. So, first of  all, you got me interested in keep going but, level 5 is to hard for me.. don't know how to do it. And i liked that i could turn the music off  (in most games i do)  but if i had volume control i would not turn it off. Liked that there is a colour blind mode and the way the player is shown with the blinking light. Liked the level editor too. in a few seconds i was playing my own level. NICE!

Developer

Thanks for your comment! :D Yes, the levels are difficult, but I did want to make it based on my skill level. I did think that level 5 wouldn't be too hard but I think that the way to do it is a little complicated, which is okay. To do level 5 you have to jump on each tile, then try and get the orb (by jumping on the edge) and jump over the hazard onto the red wall (which shouldn't be too difficult). Then you should fall into the teleporter and move left as soon as you do. ;) Yes, the music is loud, haha (10 volume is enough for me on my computer). Volume control is an interesting idea, too! Thanks again!

I am a huge fan of 2D platformers, so hopefully this isn't too biased. I loved the gameplay, it was quite challenging and the mechanic really shone throughout the whole game. It was used in quite a few unique ways. The visuals are lacking, but with a bit more polishing I think it would look quite nice. A big issue was the audio, because there wasn't really any, so a song (I noticed below that you stated you are making your own song, which is cool) and some collision/power up effects would be great! Also, the UI was kinda cluttered due to all the text and buttons in the menu.

Developer

Thanks! :D I added music right now, just so you know. Lol, I am not good at art so updating the visuals might not be very soon. And thanks, because I originally made these songs for any videos I make but now I realized I can use them for my games. I will also try to add sound effects soon. I also added a level editor if you are interested. As for the UI, it's not very clean, lol, but I did try to put them in good areas. Although on some levels they are covered (like Level 14, you can't see the level or speedrun time because they are covered by white tiles). But thanks again!

I think the game is very well thought out, I think with music and polishing (like collision sounds) would really shine! But I'm really bad at platformers, I got frustrated at level 5 after diying repeatedly ;__;"
My feedback on the difficulty: some were a piece of cake and, in the middle, there were two levels that are very hard in comparison to the others. It's like the difficulty isn't gradual but it randomly spikes up and then lowers. The 5th level requires mastery of jumps you haven't developed yet in previous levels because jumps were almost not required. Anyway it was fun!

Thanks! I am planning to add music soon. Lol, I thought the levels might be too hard for beginners. I had rearranged the levels around a few times (Level 6 used to be Level 5, Level 4 used to be Level 7, and vice versa) so I created Level 5 in between Level 4 and Level 5 (which is now 6). Rearranging the levels around again, I thought would be difficult for me since I would have to go back and edit stuff relating to those levels. I thought Level 5 would be an easier level though since you only need good timing (to fall into the teleporter and then go left). Levels 6 and 7 are definitely harder, though, lol. Levels 8 and 9 are puzzle levels, but Level 10 is very hard, lol. So is Level 11.  Level 12 is also a puzzle level (but very complicated so you will need to go through trial and error) and Level 13 is a combination of both puzzle and skill, lol, and Level 14 is a teleporter puzzle. I was making the levels based on ideas I thought of while trying to make them difficult and spent a lot of time bug-fixing (such as on Level 14 where I couldn't get the teleporters to connect to each other). Even on Level 13 and Level 18, I felt like rage-quitting on my own levels even though I am a pro at platformers! xD So you get the idea, lol. But thanks again!

I love it!

Thanks! :D

This might be the strongest game concept I've played in the jam so far. It is a really interesting central mechanic that allows for original level design. I love the levels and individual challenges, and the pacing seems to be really well managed.

This game needs any type of artistic thing on top of the level design and I think it could really take off. Keep up the great work!

Haha, thanks! I just happened to think of it randomly and I was like, aha! That will be my game idea! So I decided to work on it, so much that it took me three months to finish, xD. The levels also took some time to make, too. And I didn't want to dwell on the art thing because I am not an artist, lol. I wanted to use my own assets, though. since I didn't want to deal with copyright or anything like that. I will try decorating the sprites, though! And again, thanks!

I like the concept much, but to get more fun out of it, it would be nice to give the game juice and art and sounds/ music ;)

Developer(+1)

Thanks! I am planning to add music (my own song, lol, so that I don't have to deal with copyright or credit and all), and perhaps I can try decorating the sprites, lol.

Clever levels, with neat puzzles. On the art side in general, visuals are basic but if you don't have skills in the domain that's hard to add, but above that I think that it is possible to add sound feedback, and a few animations like strecth and squish the square as it  jumps would give the overall a bit of life... although I died a few times and make it to level 7 which is good for a Jam game, it proves the game catch my attention. I don't want to be too much harsh. take it as an advice/critic. this need a bit of juice . but this game is a clever one keep it on .

Developer

Thanks! I didn't do much with the art since I am not a good artist, lol, (I spent like half an hour making the sparkle for the player for each color, haha). I wanted to use my own assets though because I didn't want to deal with copyright or anything like that, xD. I am also planning to add music, too (my own song, lol, because again, copyright). I am planning to make a level editor but your ideas are good, too! I will try implementing them once I figure out how to do so. But again, thanks!
