While it was short, it was very fun, lol! I just went berserk at those enemies (like I usually do, lol). And also the houses disappearing when you collect the candy from them is interesting. Adds to the spooky vibe, I guess. Only issue was that I didn't know how to close the game, xD, but it was still great overall!
Thanks for the feedback!
Just a quick Windows then right click the game in the taskbar and hit close window! The reason it was short was because I made the game in 7 hours and didn't feel very motivated to do a whole lot to change much in it because the project didn't interest me a whole lot.
You're welcome! And that is okay since even I lost interest in my game after a while and went off doing something else instead until I found out about this jam, haha.
Great game! The graphics are RAD. I loved the spherical effect (shader?) and the particles (smoke especially), as well as the general feel of the game. I feel the player moves a little bit slow. I see this being developed into a casual bullet hell game. Keep working on updates, special items, more monsters etc. Congrats!
Thanks everyone for bringing it to my attention that the browser version isn't running well on some pc's. I removed the HTML5 version and it is now downloadable only.
Again, thanks!
I'm not sure why exactly, but the game's visuals, I would guess, are the primary source of the game's lag. It looks alright, but at what cost, ya' know? This looks like a Unity project; if so, it shouldn't be so much different to export this as a downloadable executable, which I'd recommend doing so that we can properly playtest your project! :)
Hello, thanks for telling me! The HTML5 version is removed and there is now a downloadable .exe instead.
Btw, the visuals are certainly the lag. Despite not re-drawing anything, there are a ton of new graphical enhancements. The fog, the death smoke from the enemies, the pumpkin guts splatter and the small smoke effect from the pumpkin guts blaster add quite a bit of graphics card consumption. Also, the map is a live camera of all the houses, so it's rendering practically the same thing twice! Nevermind all the post-processing...yeah, I was in a bit of a rush to get it done cause I started on the second to last day (Well, I started at night), so I might have overlooked a few (by few, I mean a LOT) of areas to optimize.
I really like the music and the visuals, but the lag on the input is way too big (at least for me).
Hi, I haven't heard about this from anyone, but I'm assuming it has to do with the fact that the HTML5 version is running poorly on some devices. There is now an .exe available instead.
Would be nice if you also post a version to download, because on browser it runs not smooth (at least for me)
Thanks for bringing this to my attention. There is now an .exe version available for download, sorry it wasn't running well on the browser!
Perfect, i am going to play it again then
Nice! The grafics are really cool, also a really good theme. I like this halloween style. Music and Sounds are also good, especially the music, which fitts perfect to the game. Well done!
Won :) personally I found that's the second part fo the music works better (more spooky) , the intro with the guitar feels like a different track, but both are well done anyway (And maybe I'd better shut up as I only made a few short loops in Bosca Ceoil for my game :) ) It would be cool to have a few different enemies/waves. And I feel the arts not so cohesive the graveyard and enemies are very cool I think you should use the same kind of art for the player and shots. hope this can help.
Not joking, I literally just took my school iPad, opened up Garageband, then just started slapping stuff together.
