Very unique story line... or story lines. I get the sense of being a singular person falling through multiple dimensions. Actually it reminds me of a fevered night dream with alternative paths. Nice work.

Developer

Thank you for playing and commenting. Fever dream is a fair comparison. Interesting to hear multiple people's interpretations.

That was pretty dreamy, beautiful description, light air-like atmosphere – you’ve catched the essence very well.

Was a bit afraid that I won’t find any endings, but just circling around I found new paths, and got Escaped ending in the end.

Thanks and nice work!

Developer

Thank you for playing and commenting! I appreciate you sharing your ending. I was also afraid people wouldn't be able to find any endings. I didn't have time to do much playtesting, but I'm happy to hear the positive responses.

I enjoyed it, but I can't seem to get to the end with the choices I've made. How many loops do I have to go through if I make the same choices? I do love the descriptions though!

Thanks for reaching out for help (and apologies for the late reply). It's a bit convoluted, but there's multiple exit points that check for certain variables. For instance, if you take the rat trap in the "it's a clock" path, then that rat trap can trigger a new scene in the "don't answer" branch. Or if you answer "I love Life" in the "stars" path, then you can use this as motivation to get out of bed in the "it's a clock" story. I'll probably add hints or clearer directions when I go back to do revisions.

Happy you love the descriptions!

Some real beauty in there, and an admirably complex structure given the time within which it was built.

Developer

Thank you for playing and finding the beauty.

I really like these little existential pieces... I got my Life's Goodbye ending and, you know? I am happy with it! The loop got a bit intense sometimes though @-@ A bit frustrating on how I wasn't sure where to go or how to interact with things... but I guess that's life to you!

Enjoyable, good stuff <3

I appreciate your feedback! I was worried the game would be a bit too obtuse, but I'm glad you were able to get the Life's Goodbye ending. Thank you for playing!

Looking forward to checking out your game!

This was a really interesting experience and it also had some out-of-nowhere funny moments! Making this game may have been a roller coaster of emotions. But so was playing it.

I made a spider join me... I smelled fart.... and then eventually I got the "Life's goodbye" Ending! :)

Developer(+1)

I'm glad you got to see some of the funny stuff! Farts are always funny, especially in weird, psychological text adventures.

Thanks for sharing which ending you received!

Can't wait to play your game too.

It's always hard to write dreams, because they're so... Intangible, so I'm very impressed you managed to get a pretty clear story across here! I think some audio could really elevate the experience of reading this!

Thank you for playing! I know, right! Dreams can be frustrating, both as a writer and a reader. I wrote a lot of poetry in college about dreams and delusional states of being, and the execution was really hit or miss. I think the reader needs something concrete to attach to, or else there won't be any stakes. I tried to approach this game from the perspective of someone with dementia, and how they would perceive the world around them: mixing memories, dreams and abstractions of reality.

I'd love to add audio. In my head everything is narrated by the Disco Elysium narrator!

I'm excited to check out your game!

Thanks for checking out Ticking Stars! Please let me know if you have any questions and/or comments.

This is my first game jam, so it's been a rollercoaster of emotions. I'm excited to read/play all of your stories!

Cheers
