Good game covering an important topic, looks great and plays well with a lot of potential for further development, really enjoyed it! And it was awesome having you on stream! Here's the VOD if you want to check that out again: (yours starts at 36:40)
I loved to see it thanks for playing!
I loved the concept. I didn't like the controls so much but great game overall.
A coffin? Really? XD
Very funny and very good physics. Fantastic work!!
Thank you! Usually the coffin and the headstone get a couple laughs which was entirely my intention.
It was fun, but I wish that there was a goal or limit.
Yeah me too! Originally I wanted the money to go towards upgrades that would culminate in something like "shutting down the trash factory" or something like that. As is the nature of these jams I just had to cut scope and focus on the core gameplay. Thanks for playing regardless though!
love the mechanics on this! i could space out and do this for hours, kind of in the same token as lazy cleaning games such as Viscera Cleanup Detail
great work!
I had to laugh when a passing car threw a coffin in the canal! :-D
The controls took a lot of getting used to, but I really enjoyed playing it!
Cute game. I definitely love the aesthetic and graphics of the game, along with that great royalty free song. Controls definitely take some getting used to but it's still quite fun to play. I think it has potential to be more. The aesthetic reminds me of those passive games like unpacking and I do like that style.
Love the aesthetic and the music. Gameplay is simple but addicting. I spent a lot of time trying different strategies to collect the most trash. Very satisfying when it all goes into the pipe and shoots out. Would love to see more!
Very cute! It was a bit hard to control where I'd move the trash, but that's the fun of the game! It was so satisfying watching the trash pile grow in the corner!
Cool and simple concept, much more addicting than I thought. It was very relaxing and satisfying. I agree with some of the comments that I would like to spend the money on something like upgrades. I like the controls. More variety of maps would be cool, like a volcano or other more exotic places. Nicely done! A+
Brilliant idea! Really enjoyed playing! I did find myself wanting to be able to spend the money I was earning though - maybe a shop that gave you upgrades would be a nice addition. You could improve boat speed, agility, scoop size etc.
Fun little game. And wow, all those people driving by the canal and throwing their trash into the water are just the worst!
I love this game! Pushing the trash with Captain Trashdog is super satisfying. The controls are great - doesn't feel like you're skating around at all!
With the physics being equally unpredictable, it becomes a challenge of efficiency - the unending task to collect as much as possible in a single run. You’re not aware of an item’s value until you guide it to the collect point - but you also equally concerned about continued access across the section of the canal.
There are some persistent problems with where items land in the canal (mainly out-of-bounds beyond the fence to the left or the buoys to the right) and items in the corners of the play space.
Fun game though, had some performance issues on Opera GX - but turned out to be fine on Firefox / MS Edge. 👍
Really nice physics! I enjoyed it. It is nice to see games about the environment . Nice one!
Thank you! The theme of 'growing' to me meant growing both as a community and as an individual. We all individually and as a community need to grow and get better to take care of the only world we have.
Captain Trashdog and his Riverboat Quest to Clean the Canal is an inspirational social commentary on the world's exponentially growing problem with pollution. CTAHRQTCTC exposes the player directly to an unmanageably expanding amount of filth they have absolutely no hope of cleaning up with their tiny little boat. I think that it's the hopelessness in the situation that creates the drive for the player to do what little they can to save the canal. There is definitely something satisfying about dumping larger and larger piles of unwanted couches, bathtubs and birthday cakes into what can only be described as the city's water supply to repay the villainous city dwellers for their wanton disregard of mother nature.
Strangely addicting. Caught myself trying to amass trash to dump as much as possible into the tube all at once.
