Damn delay !!!

Developer

Thanks for all the comments. I didn't have a lot of time to work on it on my end, so I missed some final details. The delay for the spike death was planned to have an animation fill that time (and a basic walk animation)

Short and sweet! Like others have said I think it could use a few more things to engage the player (rather than just walking/dying to spikes), but nice work for the time constraint :)

A very ominous dungeon!  Good lighting effects and sound effects to sell the environment (though the sounds seemed a little too quiet to me).  I'm not sure who they hired to install those floor spikes, but surely that's an OSHA violation or something keeping those around...

I think I'd suggest adding some more gimmicks or puzzles to the exploration next time to engage the player more than just walking around (maybe some buttons to press to open doors or something!)

Some sounds would really help with the game in terms of movements and enemy encounters. I got caught off guard a couple of times with the spikes deaths. The visuals are really good and top down perspective camera is a nice touch too. Solid submission here!

I liked this. I thought the visuals (with the vignette) and the water-droplet SFX created a nice vibe, and I found all the coins. I do think the other reviewers are on to something about the spikes--it's hard to understand what they are at first, and it would be helpful if they responded in a more immediate way. To that point, I think this game is crying out for more SFX--footsteps, death sounds, a metallic ring as the spikes pop up, etc. I'd also love to see more puzzle elements, like a lever or key you have to find in order to access a new area and find the last coin, for example. But that's for the future, if you want to keep working on this. Good job!

I second the spikes are a bit weird, the game in general could be a bit more snappy - but hey, it's a jam! Definitely had fun going through the maze though

The spikes are a bit weird, even if I am stepping on top of them I feel like I avoided them since you let the character keep moving for a little bit and then the spikes slowly pop up.  If the feedback was more immediate I wouldn't feel cheated by some of those deaths.

Overall I played it a few times but couldn't continue playing till the end.  I think I found 5 coins max across all the games.

That's how I exactly feel! Thank you!
