I like the sound design and appreciate the monologue before each scene. If enemies only approached within a certain radius, I think that would help the game play experience, alongside a different way to aim with the mouse. This was quite fun to keep away from the hordes of enemies. It makes me think of a zombie survival horror experience.

thank you for the comment!

having aiming independent of movement would make it a bit simpler. Also having an aggro range on the enemies would help make it so they don't just all swarm you at once. Overall this was a very good game I really likes the dialogue and the effects!

Thanks for the review! Glad you liked it,

Awesome game. First thing with gun that i did was shooting myself on accident. A bit hard to aim, but this game have huge amount of potential and it's pretty polished. Great job and good luck in your projects!

This was great! I love that the bullets bounce off the walls and can damage you too. The music and effects also made a really cool atmosphere. Great job!

thank you so much!

Great game! It was a bit difficult to aim the gun towards the enemy, perhaps rotating the gun with the mouse pointer would've worked better😅 Nevertheless, a solid jam game! Enjoyed it thoroughly!

Thanks a lot!

This is pretty great! Surprisingly deep for such a short game jam so nicely done. Just some minor feedback but as people have mentioned a health bar would be a good addition since it's hard to tell the character's color. I would also love some indicator of the reload status too, just so I know when I can shoot again without clicking space since the bouncing bullet can make that risky. Maybe a circle around the player that fills up and goes away once you're ready to fire again?

Thank you for playing! Your suggestions are really helpful, I will surely look into them and update the game soon!

Good base for a game, and with story (^w^)

Someone already said it, but I would have loved a health bar too (^w^) I also didn't notice the color change for the player (~^^)~

Thank you for making this (^w^)

Developer

Thank you so much for playing! I will take these feedbacks and definitely update the game soon!

Really nice game, and I liked that you had a bit of story in it.

A couple of things that might be nice to have if you continue working on the game, it would be nice to have some player acceleration instead of just moving at the constant speed (not as fast as the speed boost thing, but just a bit faster so from a stop their movement speeds up) and maybe also have the enemies have some sort of radius around them so you need to get close to them before they start heading towards you. Once I realized they just all walk at you, I found it was pretty easy to beat levels just by staying around where I started and kill them as they come to me, kiting them along when I need to.

Thank you for the review. The player color turns more and more red as you take damage. I guess it wasn't as noticeable as I wanted it to be. I will surely work on the game and I really appreciate your suggestions!

Nicely done! The bouncing bullet ended up with me shooting myself in the face half the time, but at least it discouraged random firing, lol. Maybe there could've been some additional mechanic around that (e.g. the bullet gets stronger for every bounce or something like that). I also think it would've benefited from just free-form mouse aiming or something in that vein, now most of the challenge came from aiming.

Story was really nice, it's always fun when there's a jam game with a bit of a little something going on, so great job on that! The theme didn't maybe come through super strong (I guess explore the level to find the device, then find the exit portal), but that's all right, had fun anyway!

Developer

thank you so much for the comment! glad you enjoyed the game. I  wanted to make the shooting a bit like vampire survivors but without autoshoot(basically without use of the mouse), but it didn't come off well. I will surely work upon it and update the game soon.

It takes time to get used to aiming. Still fun to play.

Great job on this! It was fun to see a bit of story then right into action, however the second level was already pretty difficult. Maybe you can adjust it so it raises in difficulty a bit slower to give the player time to adjust. Overall, a great job - well done!

Developer

thank you so much. I did not get much time for playtesting, so I messed up the difficulty scaling. I'll surely update the game in the future and probably go ahead with the story as well.

"Bouncing bullets? Hell yeah"! I missed a health-bar tho ^^

Developer(+1)

Haha, glad you enjoyed. I didn't get much time for the jam unfortunately, so I just made the player color represent the health.

Ahhh ok. I didn´t notice that on my play through
