I love the color choices on the cover and the maps were all well drawn and clear. I love the name "Whimsywick", it makes me immediately picture a wizard's hat with a burning candle.
I appreciate you breaking up the content, especially on page 2, into concise sections. Its not really a knock against the adventure, and the background information you provided helped, but I felt a bit lost jumping in without having read part 1.
It would be a nice addition to include some descriptions of the NPCs, like Richt and Livian on page 4, though I imagine that's in part 1.
Thanks for taking the time to review and comment. The time crunch got me in the end, so I left out some lore, but your feedback is helpful. I have noticed a lot of layout approaches during the jam that I think would really help with readability.
Thank you for taking the time to create and share the adventure!
I struggled with the time management too, I might have stolen this line from someone else, but it was seriously a mad dash to the finish line.
Tandem quests is a marvellous idea, especially for larger west marches style groups. characterful maps and magic items. Fantastic colosseum style backdrop, love it!
Much appreciated! Thanks for the review and comment!
Very exciting idea! Awesome implimentation with how you go about the dungeon, but we feel a bit lost without some of the context od the first adventure. That being said, read this! Very fun and well thought out.
Nice and clean layout. Really enjoyed the maps. The color scheme matches well with the whole vibe and map colorization. I have heard of tandem quests but never been a part. This has peaked my interest. Great work!
These competition-type dungeons are nice! And the tandem quest system is an awesome way to gather a large group. Rollerball from 1975 is popping up a lot in my mind in this one, and in a good way.
Tandem quests look like it would be a blast, but I fear the lemonocolypse!
Beware the ambition of demons!
Tandem Questing is an idea I've wanted to try for a long time, but didn't have the vocabulary for! It's an insidiously genius idea.
Thanks for the shout out about the vocab. I was playing around with ideas on what to a call a game played simultaneously and interacts with one another, "Tandem Quest" felt the best to me. I had an instance where I DM'd a 12 person game, and I said "Never again." Next time around I convinced one of the players to DM in tandem, and we made up interactions as we went. I wish I had more time to provide the Opposing Dungeon (which is in the works and being created by my partner DM).
It's like a mini-West Marches. Fabulous!
I have little experience with tandem quests, but this looks like fun. I particularly like the interactivity of the traps, portals, and other PCs.
Thanks, I wish I had provided the Opposing Dungeon alongside this one (planned for the future), then it would have really showcased how it all works.
