Blend of 80's and the movie inside out? I like the structure of the hook and the many non combat scenarios to explore. Nice work!
Haha! Don't know how I didn't see that influence. Glad you enjoyed! Thank you
Really unique design and concept from top to bottom! The mix of themes from the 80's let alone being sucked into an adventure as a normal person is intensely evocative and oozes what it feels like to live in that synth soundtrack of the time. Our only gripe is that the monster page is a tad blurry, but otherwise READ THIS!!
Thank you for the kind words. Means so much that you took the time. It's our most valuable asset. I appreciate you!
You probably know this, but going back through and seeing your initial idea to now...it is crazy! The core is there, but the process really helps if you can get revisions in...which leads to your discovery (thank you BTW. Can change that for an update after). When I made the last revision and relinked all the images, I linked it to a version of the table I shared with a friend for the phone. The files size was the giveaway lol.
We appreciate you! The discourse itself is so magical and we cannot agree more with your first paragraph!!
We are sad to hear about the table because it is a really beautiful adventure. The cover literally screams at you to run it! And, we can't agree enough either. It is crazy to think about the possibilities!
Feels very psychonauts! One of my favorite games btw, I almost went with a psychonauts idea but had a hard time figuring out how to introduce it. You figured it out with such a great premise!
The DM screen is a nice touch too!
I had to look up that title. It came out right when I enlisted...explains it a little. I almost spit out my drink in the teaser trailer for part 2...the girl sleeping and the counting sheep that are really bombs! Glad you enjoyed it, and now I have a game to check out with my son. Cheers
Thanks for putting up the black and white version! It’s very helpful and more accessible!
Absolutely! Happy to offer options. Graphic Designer, and use to run print shop for the Midwest VAs, so I understand accessibility to color printers isn't always there...and eyes don't always like or sometime can't do color. Cheers
Always been a fan of exploring personifications of emotions, thoughts and such! Really lovely set of ideas here, and learning more about Jenny from the dungeon’s ambience was a lot of fun!
Thank you. Truly appreciate the time you took to review it, and that you enjoyed the experience. Cheers
This adventure is an explosion of unique ideas and deep topics. Love the pink, and the somewhat chaotic vibe yet it remains easy to read. Leaves a lot of room for flavoring it the way the reader likes. Great entry!
This really means a lot. Imposter syndrome was real on this one because I put so much of my last 5 years into it. I didn't think my brain would translate. Cheers for the kind words
Love the cover, the maps, the creatures, the vaporwave-y, asd/adhd perzine-ish design. Very original and neat! And good nostalgia, too. I’m from the 80s, so. Ya got me!
Thank you. Happy I have some fellow 80s peeps in here to really get the little things. I appreciate you
Your concept is bold and infectious, and the execution makes it all feel deeply personal! Feelings, emotions, and mental blocks are sometimes kind of sidelined or ignored in TTRPGs in favor of external dramas. My own mid gremlins loved reading this! Though they might not be able to keep up with all the ideas here, it's still clearly great!
One thing I'd recommend is doing another pass after the jam for spelling, grammar, etc. A few words felt like speech-to-text or a phone's autocorrect got in the way. But that never stopped me from getting the meaning!
This means a lot. There was definitely a lot of me in this. A lot of the seeds from this adventure started in a VtM discord chat, and helping each other in Body Doubling session. So happy that it touched you and you felt the message a bit in it. Spelling is definitely a struggle since Cancer 4 years ago (fog brain) plus I cut down text to fit limits so sometimes it made since to me but then I read through and I'm like...oof. will definitely give another run through and add some art and stuff I edited out. Cheers for your time and your feedback!
Need to phone my English major friend for editing lol
Hey, once the jam is over you can even message me; I'd happily offer some proof-reading and cleanup work without altering the actual word choices or content! Also, so many friends and family have fought cancer over the decades, I've seen the struggle and the cost. It's great to have you with us!
This adventure is a different kinda old school! TRON is definitely not the first thing that comes to mind when thinking about Knave 2e and that makes this adventure all the more refreshing. It respects all the core principles and activities of the game but breaks free in themes and setting while still feeling true. Reminds me of some of my favorite community content for cyberpunk 2020!
I truly appreciate the kind words. You articulated exactly what I was going for here. I truly wanted to respect the spirit of OSR, but present something new and fresh...the idea just resonated with me too much not too, so I took a risk. High honors for me if it sits with just one person in comparison to some of their favorite community content.
Wow the vibes are crazy. Maybe I'm trapped too.
Before the initial version, I cut out a part where you can use the example or make your own room NPCs with 6 things laying around you. Then make them into the NpCs that represent your Mind Gremlins, inability to sleep when trying, distractions, hyper-focus, info-dumping, and addiction. You very well could be trapped...might suggest some Floortime, some good trusted friends, and a soundtrack for vibe.
The concept for the story of going into someone's mind to combat against various mental health challenges is really, really interesting. The 80's vibe is appreciated.
Idea started after a session in Vampire the Masquerade. Our server has cool downs after, and one player was doing Floortime after but her cat kept zooming and wanting "biscuits." I ' been researching TTRPG as a therapy tool, and boom...thought spiral. I was listening to Tron Legacy's soundtrack when it happened...
I appreciate the feedback and knowing a fellow 80s fan. Cheers!
Really digging the vibe of this 80ies adventure and your very original concept ;) Also love the colourful and playful layout and design. Really great stuff.
Thank you so much for the kind words. The music Playlist really helped the vibe, while creating. Appreciate you
Love the concept and vie of this! Awesome map too, great work!
Thank you! Appreciate you
Colorful in more ways than one! Unique formatting and fun concept for an evening of play. The style takes a bit of getting used to but I think that's part of the charm. I'd run this in keeping with the theme: stream of consciousness and being open to changing things on the fly. Thanks for this.
I appreciate all the detailed feedback. Would love to hear how it goes for your table!
After initial feedback, removed inspiration and timeline page. Added a How to Play page. Moved DM Screen to front with map and Navigation. Developed items NPCs need and give, as well as added a few additional Storyteller tips. New 2.0 version available at top of downloads.
As someone who struggles to piece together stuff in my own brain-maze, this was super appreciated!
Love the vibes and the style of this one. But I'm not quite sure I know how to run this as an adventure after a first read-through. (Aside from having my group play it lounging on pillows on the floor.)
Appreciate the feedback. Currently going through for another revision before the deadline. Will update you when it is up. Cheers!
Wow, this isn't your grandma's OSR module. Great concept.
Thank you! Yeah, I know that the high fantasy, amd horror usually get the shine, but there were some amazing Sci-fi games back in the day. Applying OSR minded to that genre seemed fitting for the idea I had.
Appreciate the help and convo throughout this Jam. Cheers
