The was a challenging puzzler(for me anyway lol). The art and the gameplay were a treat to experience. However, on the third level I keep on dying even tho I'm not around any spike.

Developer

Hi thank you for playing! that is our fault because we didn't explain that the balloon cant touch spikes either and in that stage you have to juggle the balloon through the spikes with the S shape platform. But if the balloon touches the spikes it counts as a death!

I loved it, it was really fun to play, Great job, I like the use of the theme although I would've loved to see something to do with cooling, like for instance, a tile that makes it deadly for the player to walk on cause it kills the ember or maybe melting a pathway open by being at a certain temperature or something like that, but the art is amazing and the gameplay was fun, I enjoyed it

A very fun game with some really great art! Great job Laiana! Particularly on the crystals. Movement while jumping is a little bit tricky and there are some puzzles where you essentially have to die if you didn't start them out right which will then bring you back to the level start which is a little bit frustrating. Music is also well composed and the whole thing gels together very well

This game was fun, I would definitely play this game again if it had 20 more levels. With a bit of polish with the sprites and collisions I could see this being a full game. (You almost made me rage quit on level 5 because I am bad at platforming lol). One thing of note is that I got soft locked on level 5 after tabbing out for a few seconds, the player had despawned and clicking and jumping did nothing.

Developer

Great! happy you finished the whole thing! Collisions and sprites were one of the many thing we had to sacrifice because of the time constraints. Your soft-lock in level 5 is very interesting, I'll be sure to look into it and fix that!

I really love the mechanics, and there's definitely a lot of promise in this concept. The level design feels super tight overall.

Just a little more polish would bring this to the next level, I got soft-locked often and stuck in walls (especially that section where you have to juggle two platforms at different heights going left).

Developer

Thank you! I almost took out the juggling platform because it was so easy to soft-lock yourself and I needed more time to fix the collisions but I just thought it was too fun to take out! I'll for sure polish more this game for my own enjoyment!

Fun game! I love the atmosphere. It reminds me of some classic Genesis games. I got stuck in some walls though XD

Yeah, the main problem with the game was collision! It was my first time making a game and the week seemed to fly by! Thank you for playing our game!

For that being your first game, you killed it. You and the rest of your team did an amazing job!

My goodness!  This is such an incredible game!  There were occasional spots where something didn't seem to work as intended, like a balloon in lvl 2 that seemed to go nowhere (but I didn't wind up needing to use it?)  But my goodness the graphics are amazing and the gameplay mechanics are *so* well considered for the them.  The aesthetic of the magma dude is so neat.  I love it.

Developer

Thank you very much! I had to replay the second level to see what you ment XD but YES, I didn't noticed that I made the door to close to the ground and you can easily jump to it without the balloon! Thank you for noticing that! Great feedback!

The main character ability is very smooth. Sometimes I would get stuck in the platforms and not able to jump out of it. The sound tracks and sfx were good.

Developer

Our sounds guy is very happy with your comment haha! Clipping into walls was one of the many bugs I didn't have time to fix because of the time constraint! Thank you very much!

That last level really was challenging!

So far my favourite etrance to the jam, in few places collisions cold be more precise(better fit the art size).  Overall great puzzle-platformer :)

Developer

Also agree with you on the collision part! XD Thank you!
