Hi,
I liked the dialogues, they are very funny, I laughed :). I also received half of the medals, including becoming a tulip killer :D.
Nice game, congratulations!
Thank you unique chars! I'm glad you liked the humor in the game.
That was a really interesting and weirdly dark game, I enjoyed the well written dialogue. I hoped there was going to be a way to escape into the void at the end. Like maybe one of the house has a secret door you can go through to get into the void area. Great use of LittleJS features, everything is working well here, I can even walk behind the trees! Nice graphics, quality and consistent pixel art style. Very cool, I would have kept playing for a while longer but I did everything!
Thank you Frank Force Games for the comment! I wish I added just a little more to the story, but overall, I'm pretty happy with the result!
Despite the cheerful visual, I felt there was an air of melancholy (maybe because the characters keep talking about the void). At first I thought there was only one conversation per NPC, but was pleasantly surprised when I found that the conversation changed depending on the progression and /or how often you speak to them.
With the main protagonist, I originally thought that it continued to face forward when it was facing away from the viewer - but I see that it is facing the correct way, though maybe the angle is a bit strange. I think it might be more natural just to see the back of the head (if it looks too simple, maybe you could add a tail on the back)
Thank you masa for the comment and feedback! I should have added a little more to the sprite like the tail you mentioned, to make it clear that Pixi was facing away. The little dot eyes may have been a little too small, and the scale of the textures might not have helped with that.
Very nice comfy project to roam around and kind of relax in and enjoy the pretty colors and landscape.
If there was a bit of backstory presented at the beginning before you get into dialogue with the villagers I think it would be much better.
The systems that you have built seem to work quite well though: movement, dialogue, entering houses. I like how you included some medals to get into the mix also!
This has much potential to be expanded out. I really like the core that you've built here for a nice action/adventure or light RPG type game.
I did find some weird loading bug where the background tiles never do load and it really looks like you are out in the void. I was very confused with people talking about flowers and paths and rocks my first playthrough. Once I simply loaded the page again it was fine though:
I also wasn't sure about the various black tiles I came across as well, or if that was part of the void concept:
Thank you raptor9999 for the comment and feedback! Yes, being directly in the void definitely isn't part of the game. I'm not quite sure what causes those visual glitches, but it probably has do with tiles being undefined when loading in. Overall, I'm glad you were able to see the majority of the game level properly.
This game reminds me of the Bionicle Mata Nui Online Game's I played as a kid. I love this type of adventure game. Very simple, cute, and intriguing. The desire to find all the secrets and do everything was there when I was playing the game. I enjoyed it.
Thank you JJeCho for the comment! I'm glad you enjoyed the game.
this was a quite intriguing game with an interesting premise that made me think about what i played a lot, but it ultimately left me confused. i loved how the game looks and i love little touches like how sofo changes his expression if you picked all the tulips or how everyone wears party hats after you picked it up and reset the game. the ideas were compelling, a content society that lives in a middle of nothing whose main character attempts to do something and gets reprimanded is a novel idea, but i really thought that there is much more to it with characters hinting to certain concepts and places. regardless, this is still pretty neat for what it is and i have enjoyed my time with it!
Thank you Sodoj for the comment! I didn't have much of a plan for the story so that could have made it a little confusing overall.
