Gave it another try right before the end of the Jam, and finally the game clicked for me.

It's incredible how we players sometimes ignore the most obvious stuff on the game (took me a while to figure out I could use the arrow keys, even though it is written on the screen lol).

I'm not much of a puzzle player myself, but I really enjoyed this one. Your presentation is top-notch, and the game concept is really inventive. Nice work!

Hi,

I completed 6 levels of the first world, 2 levels of the second world, and 1 level of the third world. It seems that the next worlds open not only when you have completed the world completely, but when you have completed a certain number of levels of the world.

The graphics are nice, the music is good, although a bit harsh, but it's cool that you added the ability to turn it off or on.

The game itself is interesting, it was fun to play a few levels. It's also nice when your progress is saved.

The snake is cool :), but I would like it to be a little more relevant to the theme.

I would also like to have information about the controls in the game, as I accidentally discovered that I can move objects with the arrow keys. It would also be nice to have a button to return to the main menu from a level.

It was fun, congratulations!

Developer

heyo, thank you for playing and for kind words!

the first three levels in world one should describe controls and how to access the menu. level one tells you how to move snake, level two explains how to move the tiles and level three suggests using P key on your keyboard if you wanna access the menu.

these instructions should be located at the top of the screen for each level. did they not appear/render for you at all or did you just happen to miss them? if it's the former, could you provide a screenshot so i could look into it?

thanks in advance!

Oh, now I see, I just wasn't paying attention and was just reading how to eat :). Maybe in that case it would be good to have a "home" icon or back arrow that wouldn't make you remember or in case you didn't pay attention like me :).

Is it possible to simply make the game description more eye-catching, maybe a color contrast or something like that, because the text fits so harmoniously into the overall picture that I didn't even pay attention, on the one hand it's good, on the other not so much, another option is a separate section in the menu with a description of the controls.

But this is an improvement, other players can just be more careful ;).

Tricky but super fun and pretty unique. Nice game!

The game has nice clean graphics, and playing it was a fun, smooth experience! I like the unique concept.

The puzzles were difficult for me, so I wasn't able to unlock World 4 to see what mechanic was next. I think having a 'skip' button would be nice for when I cannot figure out how to solve a particular level. Also, I think it would be good to have the controls in the description as well. I didn't realize that 'P' was the key for the pause menu.

Otherwise, it was great, I enjoyed it!

Very fun puzzles, relaxing mood, and balanced difficulty. Really well designed game overall!

This game is amazing!

I've only made it to World 3 so far, but I have to take a break for a while because it's late and I need to play everyone else's submission also!

You've really made a fantastic entry here, from the initial idea, the game design and mechanics, and the implementation and execution. Kudos!

Easy to understand, difficult to master.

A game that kept me quite entertained for a long time, I enjoyed it a lot

A question, how or what library did you use to make the UI? I liked it a lot

Developer(+1)

heyo, i used default html and css for the ui!

It took a short while for me to understand, but once I got it, it was really addictive. Very polished and well thought out. I haven't quite finished it yet (I spent way too much time on it and I needed to move onto other games!), but I think it was interesting to see new concept being added gradually, and subtle differences in vibe between each level created through music and texture overlay. I felt the undo feature was a nice touch too.

Love the concept of the game. I liked to play 2048 a lot back in the day and I think the incorporation of the snake is a very nice refreshing take on the game. Levels of World 1 seem very well designed (I envy that talent!); I hope I’ll find time to finish the rest of the game before Christmas.

Way too hard for me in my current state of mind. Probably always too hard, but I might try again tomorrow.
How on earth do you come up with such crazy long puzzles? Love the concept/idea but would appreciate a slower progression of difficulty.

Amazing game! I sat in the menu for a while just vibing and dancing to the track. Love the combination of games you used and how you blended them perfectly together so well. Do I move the snake or move the tiles? I love this game a lot. :)

Wow, amazing work! This game feels very high quality and professionally made. I found the puzzles challenging and it was really great to have the save feature work automatically so I could come back and work on stuff. It's actually hard to give feedback because it's already so solid, I may need to think on it a bit. A few small suggestions for now...

  • Disable the LittleJS watermark in the top right with setShowWatermark(false);
  • Esc would make sense to have the same functionality as P.
  • Make the start screen a bit more interesting, maybe incorporate some of the art from the game.
  • After unlocking new worlds you should remove the "Complete X levels to unlock" text.
  • When you eat a tile, the particle effect comes out the top right corner rather then the center.
  • There is an itch.io setting "Automatically start on page load", this is really good for small games that load quickly like yours.

I will keep playing, need to unlock level 4!

thank you for the kind words frank and thank you for organizing this jam, im really glad to hear you are having a good time! you've made a great tool and i had a blast developing the game!

you brought up some valid points and i've already addressed some of them, like removing the watermark and removing the messages when the worlds unlock and enabling the itch page settings. looking forward to updating the game more and more as i get more feedback.
