The graphics are nice but unreal engine is excessively heavy for my computer. As you may know, it needs more work...
Thanks for playing! Yes, I overestimated what I could get done in the time I had, I mention on the game pages it's an incomplete demo. I'm planning to finish it as an exercise. Glad you liked the graphics. Congrats once again on your excellent entry.
Thanks for the kind words, and for downloading and playing such a large and unfinished finished game!
Great looking game! I would love to see a more complete version. As feedback I can say that the jump feels floaty and a dash or roll to move faster would be awesome.
Thanks for the feedback and the dash/roll idea! The controls are a bit off, I'm acting on all that feedback in the background.
Sure thing! please consider play my game.
I like the idea of him being connected to nature, that's nice. The visuals are pretty nice too. He controls feel okay, although I wish there was a way to move faster. Also I felt his bar should recharge faster when reaching nature.
Overall though, an interest game you made. Nice work :)
Thanks very much for playing. Making the bar recharge faster might work really well, I'll try it.
+1 for monke
Thanks!
Nice idea and great art style and assets!but i got lost at some points
Thanks so much for playing! Yeah, one of the assets that didn't make it into the game was a green sign with a tree and an arrow on it - probably should have made that higher priority >_<.
This is a comment because Itch won't let me post just a video.
This is just fantastic, top-quality feedback. Thanks so much for going the extra mile.
It really does suffer from lack of completion, so just in case anyone else reads this - there should be a sign pointing left after the second garden. The idea is to avoid the roads completely. In the other direction there's two additional platforming puzzles and parks that I doubt anyone else saw either :).
You can't attack anything in game. I sort of wanted my toddler to be able to play it, so as little violence as possible - you just avoid enemies. With beating the boss, the aim is to connect him to the nature points until he calms down - much the same way you do - but with me not finishing the health bar for him in time there's no way for you to know that.
I'll have to finish it off post-jam for my own satisfaction. Thanks again for this, I really appreciate it.
This is a fun little platformer and I enjoyed playing it^^
I had troubles with short-ranged jumps though as my little monkey tends to float forward a lot when you started the jump while walking. Even pressing the opposite direction didn't do much for me so I jumped too far a lot of times.
But this is a good submission and you can be very proud of yourself =D
Thanks very much for the feedback and for playing! I do need to work on the character controller a bit.
PAPER ATTACK!!! :P
Lol yes, placeholder for something I didn't have time to build. Thanks very much for playing.
Did you make all the assets yourself? They look pretty good. Decent basis for a game, I look forward to seeing how it progresses :)
Thanks for that! I used base meshes for the chimp and gorilla, then built the clothing on top. Everything else is home made.
The last thing I would have thought someone would make with the theme "Connection" is a game about monkeys, but I love the idea. The stylized graphics also look great. I would have loved if there was a little more going on though. The monkey also moves a little bit slow. Still I think if you spent some more time working on this it could be very cool.
Thanks very much Igoz. There was another enemy type and boss attack planned to fill the gaps, but I didn't get there fast enough. I definitely need to reduce scope and up polish for the next one. I might finish it off as an exercise after the jam.
Nice game, its looks really good and the controls are very good! Ilike it a lot
Thanks very much Pachoncito!
Thanks flashy. Hope you enjoyed it.
I like the connection between the monkey and the green naturalball. I was trying somethink like this but didnt get it working. It seems you had in packing setting the developmode on. If you switch it to shiped, the print string nodes like the die will not apear in the packaged game.
Thanks for trying the game! I did make a bunch of mistakes packing the game (first time), thanks for offering a solution.
Unfortunately for me, the camera goes crazy on my end. I don't know if it's the game or my mouse. I think it's more my mouse since I had an issue like that on another game.
Great job otherwise, Like your take on the theme :)
Sorry to hear that PhiPhi, Thanks very much for letting me know!
I like the cell-shaded look of the game! Great that you laid out a level with some platforming, and a well dressed boss that dishes out knowledge (in the form of thrown books)! I thought the other monkeys where trying to give me health packs, turns out they were shooting at me with ray guns! haha! It would've been nice to be able to attack back at the enemies. throw some bananas back at them :) Good effort, buddy! :D
Thanks very much for downloading and playing, I really appreciate it! You're right, I needed to make the theme a bit clearer for it to make sense.
