really good music!
I love the huge world, and the character art is quite good. The auto combat system is neat but it would have been nice to have at least one skill when you start, to help learn about the system.
I'm really impressed with the scope of this game. Loved the exploring and the general feel of the game. The sort of semi-auto combat took a few battles to understand, but after that it worked pretty well for me, especially thanks to all the spell upgrades. Very enjoyable, great work for a two week jam.
I liked it! The first time I didn't fully realize what happened during combat, because it was over pretty fast. So I wasn't sure if I actually did something good or not. But during the second battle I realized how it worked, it was pretty straightforward from then on. Nice job!
cute little game!
Nice job! The world feels really big. I agree with Eigen below. The combat could have been clearer. and the movement style was odd for this genre. Great stuff :)!
My original idea for the movement style was going tile by tile (like some games in this jam) but since my maps were a little big walking was a little annoying after a while. I tried something different but I guess it didn't work that well =( , but that's life I guess haha
Hey, c'mon it wasn't that bad! Just maybe worth experimenting with post-jam to find something that works for you and the players.
It's ok =) I prefer to admit my mistakes and learn from then!
Very nicely done apart from the confusing battle mode and strangely accelerating movement in the overworld.
As I answer up, I tried something new, but didn't work
A lot of content in this one, I loved the first person view in the battle scenes!
(: I'm glad you like it!
This game is huge for a game jam! Congrats on the achievement! Well done!
(: I'm proud of it, I managed my time very well this jam.
Really like that you have made a classic jrp style game in this res! Graphics are awesome - particularly in the battle screens. Really smooth move animation, personally have found that a real struggle at this res so well done! Was confused on the first battle but soon realised what was going on. As others have mentioned an onscreen tutorial for the first one would be helpful. Really good!
Your entry is a far far more sharp and neat than mine haaha. Thx for playing (:
A great game overall ! I love the visuals and the audio. The battle system was too fast at first to understand what was going on, but reading through the comments I figured out how it works. Maybe a tutorial was needed, but no worries:) Really enjoyed the game !
You are right, it was a huge mistake not making any kind of tutorial!
It looks great, but I couldn't make sense of the battle system.
You have an auto-attack + you can use skills
WASD to control J to use then or potions ;) you can find more skills exploring the map
Great game! I noticed that if you hold left and right while moving vertically, your character looks like they are sliding which looked pretty funny.
didn't have the proper time to fix this little minor bug =P haha ty for playing :)
This was a cute game. I really enjoy the battle system. At first you're just chugging healing items and hitting enemies with a stick, but then you get Fire and things get a bit more frantic! I noticed a few small bugs (the red mage disappears after death but you can't walk through that square, and the villager who tells you about the magic scroll near the water won't move out of the way), and I'm a bit stuck trying to find the enemy who used the power source to escape. Overall fun, and the battle screens especially look great!
Pretty cool mini RPG, def inspires me to try something similar for my next jam. The battles are fantastic i loved the graphics and point of view. Well done.
