Congratulations! This is a real accomplishment. I expect great things from your game engine.
I think you should add a random or pre calculated initial velocity towards one side since the ball bounces a lot in the middle at the start. Good job on the engine!
Cool that you made your own engine. How in depth is turtle and are you thinking of expanding on it or was it purely made to do simple games?

This is a very simple game in 64x64, the classic pong.
