best game in the world
5x5 chess - no more, no less )
Nice idea and cool implementation. Liked diffrent rook and bishop movement. AI cught me on this couple times ))
thanks for feedback!
I did it \o/ that was really tough, I guess only calculating 8 pieces on 5x5 is a lot easier than 32 pieces on 8x8 that AI is godly haha, great game! :)
thanks.
This was a really neat game. I couldn't restart it or anything but the simplistic design and creative idea made up for it!
Thanks.
In the future I will add a restart and more.
Well, apparently my lack of skill playing chess extends to your variant as well. That being said I really enjoyed playing this and I appreciated the minimalism of the chess pieces.
Thanks for feedback!
Nice chess variation!

Nice chess variation!
Nice feedback variation, again!
Neat game. Constraining the game board really changed things up. The game hung when I got into this position (I assume some infinite loop somewhere).
Other than that, I had a fun time, although I couldn't help but notice the AI hung the game when I was on track to win. Maybe it's too smart if it's employing strategies like those.
Thanks for feedback!
I know about infinite loops.
In the screenshot I see a stalemate (no possible moves for the opponent).
It's impossible to AI hung the game.
Intriguing chess variant! It was hard for me to get used to the fact that rooks and bishops had limited range.
Some differences I noticed from regular chess:
My suggestion would be to have a different starting configuration so that the bishops can be used more.
Thanks for feedback.
"I think the pawn is actually the strongest piece in the game..." - AI thinks so too)
I know bishop is useless...
And also want to have a different starting configurations to make the game more varied.
And the good news: future updates in development.
Chess is not my thing, but I'm sure chess lovers would give it a good go. It is always nice to see chess-based games in game jams since chess is one of the greatest games humankind has ever created. Good job on your entry!
