Wow. At first I thought I stuck on the first mission. But I gave it a try and not regret this )
Awesome game!

Did you work in a team?
All me baybeeee
Also themes (didn't see where else to put it):
Plants as tools inspired the berry shaped power-ups.
Ace in the hole inspired the golf.
Was the resolution a challenge?
I initially was unsure if Unity would play nice with a lower resolution, and sure enough it had its ups and downs. Not only did I use a render texture at 64x64 but I also locked most sprites (and camera) to a grid to keep up the illusion.
Specifically I found that unity didn't like when I adjusted those sprites while the ball was supposed to be stuck to a wall for example lol
What did you learn?
I had used a shader to do a low res look before but never knew how easy it could've been with a render texture. Also found that maybe I shouldn't count on unity's collisionExit function to execute state changes consistently, cost me like two days lol

Awesome game!
Lost my nerve and took me 4 shots on the hole haha ^^ but my final score was
Solid small golf game! Really enjoyed playing! too bad there aren't more levels :)
Great work on designing a course that teaches the player to use their new abilities progressively! I did it in 103 shots, most of which were careful exploratory putts ;) Sometimes I wasn’t sure whether my ball would be able to bounce off some part of the level, or if that area was just part of the background. I also think your game would benefit from adding some “juicy” effects to keep the player engaged. Simple stuff like tiny particles when hitting the ball or bouncing off a wall goes a long way! Good job on shipping a complete game :)
I had a few minutes of good fun with this :) It took me a minute to realize there are small platforms above the starting area, I was trying to do something with the cannon before I knew it was a cannon and I had to interact with it after the first pickup. After that I couldn't get much further than the berry unfortunately. The sticky ball was a nice a-ha moment there though!
I thought the level layout as well as the environment art were nice, although next time maybe you should pick a more harmonious palette to work with (I recommend looking around lospec.com)
Great effort, keep it up!
Oml a low res mini-gold metroidvania, I think I'm in love, looks like I did in 67 strokes XD
I did find I got better quickly once I started to learn the strength and trajectory of various pitch and strength settings. The visuals were good I think, they fit well into the theme and I could figure out what was going on for the most part (With the exception of the sand tunnel in the roof, that could use some tweaking). The bgm was very quiet, but otherwise unobtrusive and I think fits the type of game well (From what I could hear) but it needs to be louder. The swing/hit sound was satisfying.
Most of all though it's just a really mechanically fun game, well done!
Edit: I did paste my end screen in here, but I can't see it on the page.
Oh one other thing I wanted to comment on was your thumbnail, it's really good. It drew me straight into your submission page when I saw it in passing. It explains the concept well at a glance. Made me realize my one was terrible haha.
I'm glad to hear you enjoyed it! The tunnel and bgm are consistent with other feedback so I understand it's something to watch out for next time. Also I do enjoy creating thumbnails so I'm glad someone noticed lol
I think I can see where the screenshot is supposed to be? But for now I've added a makeshift highscore board at the bottom of the description for the scores I've received.
I can't figure the path out after the purple fruit, where do you go?
Good and pretty but I am too impatient after I accidentally fall and have to redo the course
Thank you for your time! I appreciate you giving it a shot.
If you just got the purple fruit, you stick to surfaces, which means you can climb up the darker tunnel to the upper area. Once there, you continue using that power to cross the obstacles to the left and find the next fruit.
Though it is a failsafe, the "R to reset" can also help if something catastrophic happens after getting the purple fruit; It returns you to where you first got your current power-up, but it also adds a stroke so it's fair.
The music is a little too quiet, I didn't realize there was a soundtrack until my second playthrough. I also didn't even notice there was a tunnel the first time, and discovered it by accident the second. The powerups are cool and fun, and so is the game. I like it, 5/4/5/5.
PIXEL ART NERD ADVICE
Darker or higher contrast art is better suited to areas that the player cannot go because of how we see images and environments, and low contrast or brighter art is better suited for places that can be traversed to. You should shift two of three from brightness, contrast and saturation to show the difference. Our brains process closed shapes as important, and so lots of little closed shapes can also help to show that something is there vs. not there.
I appreciate the feedback!
I might have to fix something audio-wise on my PC cause it's much louder on my end, but that complaint is consistent with other feedback I've received about my setup. Edit: I reset some settings and it is much quieter.
I'll also value that art advice highly, I'm a novice on that end and still tend to just feel my way through it. I myself was unsure if just darkening the tunnel would be fine, but I see now that I could've done a bit more to convey my intention.
As a terrible golf player I enjoyed to try reaching berry :P
Well done!
Any tips for someone who turns out to be terrible at golf? I'm going to have to come back and play this more later. This is very nicely made and looks great. I'm looking forward to mastering the swing so that I can see more of the artwork. Good job!
Thank you for your time and compliments!
It can be a bit tricky, but it might help to adjust your position using the lowest power shot.
Admittedly while there are a few situations where choosing a middle power level is better, most progress can be achieved by using full power but adjusting your angle.
