Was the resolution a challenge?
Working in 64x64 resolution shaped every aspect of the project and it was an exciting challenge! We had to consider the screen size of every sprite and also figure out how to handle UX in such a small space

the pixelart and the music gives this game a very good vibe. my only problem was that anytime i started over there was an unskippable cutscene with a tutorial, that should optional

Works nicely and looks good! The simplicity and level of difficulty were well judged for a jam game. I thought I had understood how to play from the in-game tutorial but there is some vital information missing that is only available on the itch page. I think that's forgivable considering that you can't really change the in-game tutorial after the submission period ends but for version 2, if you decide to make one.

Thanks a lot for playing and your feedback.

Great game! I loved the idea and visuals.

My feedbacks:
* The game starts from the very beginning after failure. Maybe it can start from the level where we were, without the story.

* At first, I didn't understand we were supposed to click on the enemies to destroy them after creating the color.

I loved everything about this game. My only comment is sometimes I would press all three buttons to make white, but it wouldn't work. (Totally not rating it down for that as my keyboard is super old and sometimes glitchy so that could be the issue.)

Really clever concept and excellent artwork. Good level of challenge also!

Thanks a lot for playing :P

it is fun but the audio got glitchy after a few levels

Developer(+1)

I'm sorry to hear that. I guess there were problems with the sound by the game speeding up.
Thanks for playing the game :P

Super fun concept combined with great art and visuals. I feel like the difficulty ramp was set perfectly. Nice job!

Solid idea, well-explained!

I liked how you explained the story and the mechanics in a fast manner before the start. The characters are adorable to look at, and I really liked what you did with the particles and the effects overall. One of the best games I have played so far considering the submissions of this jam!

Solid entry, well done!

So happy to hear these kind words. Thanks for playing and your comment <3

Flowed surprisingly well. I never felt blocked by waiting for animations. I usually have a hard time with color combining games as I have a very slight color-blindness that makes some games really difficult to read quickly. This one didn't have that problem at all! I managed to get to the WIN screen and appreciated the cheering. Nice entry with good art, responsive controls, and a good difficulty curve.

Thanks a lot for playing and congrats on finishing the game :P

I love the animations and the retro vibes it gives, the music was very relaxing and it brought me in a camping mood!

I liked the progression and how you layed it out to the player, it has inspired me to do better for my games.

It is a nice and warm experience, I can see how much love and attention was given to details, maybe some more love could have been given to the gameloop: it plays a bit slowly with respect to how easy it is to grasp the core mechanics! Great job :D

Loved the art style, and think the music fitted really well.

The transition between the starting dialog setting the scene and then giving a quick start guide was well thought out. One criticism, as others said, is that it doesn't cover the shooting aspect, so took a while to figure it out.

Pace of mixing colours starts a little slow, but soon picks up. Nice job!

This is a really nicely polished game. great art and super satisfying animations

It was a really fun mechanic - and once I figured out that you can actually send in several colors at once I got right into the flow….

Music is catchy and good sound effects and feedback…. The graphics are great but I felt there was some kind of odd distortion going on with the red plant in the front left….

Great entry in general :)

Thank you : )

I really loved this game! The mixing mechanic is super responsive and fun to play, sometimes I confuse the pure green and the mixed green-blue one (if I'm not mistaken), but this isn't a big problem because the speed that you can recreate your fire is super fast. The art-style is super cute, and I really liked the progression of the mechanics and difficult on the levels :D

Thanks for playing!!

Lovely art, very fun mechanics and it really picks up after some time! And super cute art for the ending (I love the sound it makes as well haha). I first died on level 9 but decided to try again to check if there was an ending screen.

The splatter effects are really neat and the game is very well polished. Great tutorial as well.

One thing I noticed is that the fast pace at later levels gets you so used to it that when you die and play the first levels again it feels a bit slow. So it'd be nice if the speed of your actions weren't affected by the level, just the speed of the enemies. This is a minimal nitpick, though.

Very solid entry, I had a lot of fun playing!

Developer

Thanks a lot for playing and your valuable feedback.
I'm glad you had fun playing.

I like the balance as the levels progress. It definitely gets harder, but not lopsided, I think, though as somebody said, missing a color or shot after a few levels sends my game into a death spiral pretty quickly.

Smart use of the themes! Nice work :)

Really solid entry. Interesting concept and great art.  The cursor changing when the fire is ready is a really nice touch.

Missing a color once would usually send me into a death spiral though.

Developer

That's great to hear that you liked :P

Wonderful right the way through - it's a brilliant central mechanic, with the additional colour combinations introduced at a good pace that didn't feel overwhelming.

The art and animation is great, with tons of charm. Loved the particle effects from explosions, which added plenty of weight and juice but never felt overdone.

Soundtrack is great, and the sound design is spot on, with the

I loved the attention to detail, with things like the cursor changing colour to match the active combination just adding a lot of polish.

Made it to stage 10 - the loss screen is so sad :( I'm sorry I let the little plant guys down

Developer(+1)

It felt really good to hear from you.
Thank you for playing and for your detailed feedback :P
We apologize that there is no restart feature on the same level you lose :(
Its quite annoying to restart from beginning after reaching last stage.
