Nice little Jam game, really enjoyed the audio! gameplay was snappy and responsive and the graphics were clear and readable. I did soft lock the game on the last level because I missed some coins and dropped to an area where I couldn't jump back.
Great entry though!
Thank you. That’s so kind.
And yes, for the coin count there were really good ideas in the first comments, I think on the game page.
I’ll collect all the feedback after the jam and will write a summary on the game page with also an updated version.
You really leaned into the vocal sound and audio! A couple of the sound effects made me smile. It kind of suited the tone of the game. I had a lot of fun. Great job!
Thanks a lot. My son told me I should call it Funny Land after playing it.
Every smile is so great to read about.
I personally wasn’t a fan of the acapella music and sound effects. The game itself is solid, though.
No problem. Thanks for your feedback.
Hey! I made a top ten video of the games from this jam. (Spoiler alert, this game is in it)
If you like the video, please feel free to share it :)
Check it out!
Hey, thanks for including it in your video. I’m happy about it. :)
Its a simple & fun game with decent level design and variation between levels making it feel less repetitive. I do however feel that the authenticity (use of resolution) is very low since the game does not have the set resolution, but does really well for graphics as the pixel art that revolves around this limitation is amazing.
Thank you. Yes, I read in another comment about the „pixelperfect“ explanation. I just didn’t know that I have to pay attention on player movement, too. Next year it will respect it.
But I’m happy about your words about the pixel art. It took some time, so it’s wonderful to read that you like it.
Really fun game! The audio added a lot of charm and the platforming handled really well. I also liked the variation in levels and atmospheres. I do wish there were more platforming challenges, but as is it's very well done regardless!
Thank you for your lines.
What do you mean by „platforming challenges“? Boxes, spikes, falling elements, moving platforms, …?
I thought about it but I decided to have enough time to fix bug, create menus and upload working files. So, yes, I also miss them a little.
a nice little jump n run, with the highlight of a very charming audio
the only critique i could find would be that the grace period for a jump is very low, if it even exits?
Thanks. You mean the coyote jump time?
Yes, it was mentioned in the last comment, too. I don’t know why I didn’t added it already.
This is an enjoyable little game. The art is vibrant and charming and I find the audio to be pretty amusing. And bonus points for using Heartbeast's font. Seeing that name took me back to the time I was learning Godot since I followed several of his tutorials. My one suggestion would be to add coyote time.
Thank you.
Yes, it took some time to find the really detailed and more professional channels for tutorials and I’m still learning every day.
In my next platformer I’ll include coyote and double jump!
Nice little platformer, the falling on the first two levels is a bit too fast for me (but I could manage in a few tries), great job!
Thanks for playing it. I’ll try it with a higher air resistance to check that.
I'm really not sure if changing it would be better for most of your players, I'm definitely not the best at platformers 😅
I’ll try every idea and improvements. But at the end I’ll do what I like. :)
No, I’ve got a lot to improve for a next game but that’s learning and developing.
