Ranked from 13 ratings. Score is adjusted from raw score by the median number of ratings per game in the jam.

Themes
The themes I integrated are:
"The Main Mission Is A Sidequest" (the premise is a contrived fetch quest!)
"Unconventional Weapon" (or at least I tried. There is a flamethrower~)
"Attachments After Attachments" (Tiles are attached to one another, and you can stack armor block on armor block as much as you want!)
"Aaand It's Gone Forever." (once a tile's health reaches 0, it disappears and your only recourse is finding another like it)
"All Systems Have Broken" (I certainly let all your weapons be destroyed. Although, I would have liked damaged tiles to function "worse" as in they're breaking over time under the stress of combat, but alas...)
"Frick Around And Find Out" (Ambushes! Be sure to cover your rear! It takes only a few shots to destroy your cabin, and then it's Game Over!)

Tools
I stick with my trusty partner, DragonRuby, and it never lets me down. The 16x9 enforced aspect ratio leaves a little bit of mandatory letterboxing which becomes extra apparent when the window is shaped to be taller than it is wide (the amount of letterboxing is unreeeeal), but it's ultimately a small issue that's not really worth fussing over. I also use GIMP for producing art, and beepbox.co for producing sounds. The latter is limited by design, it mostly makes beeps and boops, and retro-style synthesized instrument noises.

Lessons
Balance is haaard. I'm not entirely sure I've correctly balanced the fuel or food or scrap economy of Power Tanks, although at the same time, I am the most skilled player at my own game at time of writing, so it's probably for the best that the economy is pretty forgiving to new players.

It looks very interesting and the pixel art is very successful but it's not easy to understand what to do and how, the first encounter was fatal for us... excuse me my brother

This a cool RTS/Builder type game. It is punishing at times, but it encourages experimentation with your tank builds which I liked. I disliked how cumbersome it is to select all your weapons to fire at enemies. I suggest adding a fire all button to just shoot all weapons attached to your tank. Also, adding music would definitely improve the game

Kinda second the aiming of my weapons, the fact the enemy has an early 3-4 shots on me because they start shooting offscreen and I have to awkwardy click aim, click aim all my weapons is kinda what took my mood out to retry after a few times. Also not sure how ecnouncters work, but being surrounded by 2 enemyies on stage one was kinda not a good gameplay experience.

Otherwise these design/balance issues I liked what you have here and this could be totally expanded in the future to a full fledged little game! Well done! Graphics were neat, sound design was good, building your own tank was fun!

Very nice game. I find it a little fiddly in regards to combat where I have to click my own guns and target the enemy, I feel like they should work automatically. And I think controls for at least panning the camera would have helped me a lot. I do really like the construction, I just wanted to add tracks for days!

Clever mechanics. It’s impressive, how you can pack so many complex rules into such a simple interface, just point and click.

Neat game, the visual style was neat. Honestly my favourite part is your cloud sprites, they were very pretty! Nice work.

Really cool game, has lots of mechanics to play with and enjoyed the strategy and complexity it brings. The only downside is the 64x64 constraint, hoping to see a larger resolution version of this.
