Appreciate you playing!
I think I should have spent a bit more time tuning the game to work at various frame rates.
Sounds like a few folks ran into some issues.
As with every game jam, lessons for next time :D
Really neat idea, I’ve played a lot of entries tonight and this might be my favourite. Kind of reminded me of lemmings in an adjacent kind of way. Really fun.
As someone who’s experimented with custom engines, I’d love to read/learn more about your custom Pebble engine if you’ve posted about that anywhere.
Really nice work!
I think my favourite part of this one is that the little slime enemy is reminiscent of the Godot logo while also being incredibly creepy lol. The way the enemy face kind of blurs and randomizes works surprisingly well.
Always hard to find time focusing in on the right things in a game jam, keep it up. <3
The way the palette should work is that the shadows/score/particles are one color, the background is another, enemies are a third, and the player and gems are a 4th.
But the colors I chose for the shadows and the enemies might be lacking contrast making them hard to see.
One thing I wish I had spent more time on was making things less visually noisy while still keeping the chaotic feel.
Appreciate the feedback for sure :D
Thanks for giving it a try! The black portion of the gates right at the edges should kill you and so you have to go through the white portion.
I tried to make it so that it leans towards not killing you to benefit the player, but that might be making things confusing.
I probably could have tried to make that more obvious, but appreciate the feedback!
