I love the grappling mechanic, the physics of it are really nice and solid. The presentation is lovely and the sound design and music are great. I think the only things I'm not a fan of is that the jump is a big hard to control, and grappling while you're on the floor can make things a bit weird, and I'm not sure if you need it? Overall, this is a great game and really impressive that you made everything yourself!
Grapple Gun is a visually cohesive game, which I believe is the most important aspect of a game. I have nothing but high praise for how you have managed to create this nearly all by yourself. It's a very interesting and creative take on the traditional ascension system of the Foddian genre. Nothing jumps out to me as bad at all.
I never expected to see a grappling hook being used for this type of game. Seeing how it turned out in this game makes me wish I would've thought of it. It feels super fun and satisfying to use. It's really good at keeping me on my toes as well.
I love grappling hooks in this game so this felt good to me. I was only able to get to about 25% (near the bricks) before it was becoming too difficult but I really like how well put together this game is. Well done :)
Personally, I liked the game, there are small flaws, but in general, the whole game is cool
Thanks for the feedback. if you made it that far then no there is no controls you missed unfortunately. I really should have made a tutorial to explain things better. Ill go ahead and make a walkthrough. thanks for letting me know where you got stuck. It is possible and intended to fly upwards after a swing if you release the hook at the right time. In that particular section you have to release the hook to get a little higher hook on from a higher point and repeat until you get on top of the middle bricks. Sorry about the confusion.
Update: I have decided to make a walkthrough for version 2.0 of the game and if I can figure out how to add a tutorial I will.
Once you get the hang of it, this feels really nice to play ! I like it
