Super unique and interesting entry. I feel like the dating feel could have been really improved by having the person you're dating ask you questions as well, I couldn't help but feel like there was some chemistry missing between us lol. Could be interesting to have to keep your answers consistent as well.
Not a huge fan of the permaloss mechanic, doesn't feel super foddian as other ppl have suggested, but I do think the game manages to capture some of the stress and excitement of a first date, which is huge for such a straightforward mechanic imo. Having progress be lost in stages or having 'lives' would feel a bit more natural I feel like.
Giving this 5 stars in originality, a very unique idea with tons of potential if executed a bit more cleanly.
Nice idea, lovely art style and some funny dialog. I think this game is really unique and special. Thank's for making it:)
I think it strays a little far from the Foddian style. In it's core, it's a game that has a loss of progress when doing something incorrect but there's no variable to the loss (it's all or nothing). Also, the game can not really be mastered (in fact it just gets harder with each playthrough since you start remembering what previous dates were and get them mixed up). Couple spelling mishaps (one phrase had no capital letter at the beginning and the Nisiaisin question had the N capitalized at the end rather than the beginning).
Criticisms aside, the game was really well designed. Absolutely amazing artwork! Interesting story paths.
I have an avid interest in the production and development of shortform games, I feel that its more interesting that developers can squeeze in an engagingly immersive experience into a smaller package as opposed to creating a much larger game where a greater amount of content is expected.
In this game, I have found the experience to be extremely interesting, it felt quite abstract and sometimes a bit surreal, especially with the addition of the graphical and audio aesthetics, which I might add was extremely well done and quite cozy. I liked the addition of randomized colour schemes that I could change myself. I enjoyed the conversation I had in-game, some of the responses and choices given to me were really interesting! I might give Alvvays a listen now :).
Really interesting game! I love the art style, and the ambient sounds really add to it as well. It's a super interesting take on the foddian genre. It might just be me because I get distracted easily, but adding a pause at the end of her responses where it waits for input would be a useful addition imo!
The art is fantastic! Sound design and writing are also great. All around a cool game! great job!
art super nice and i really like how you can move the mouse and see more of the image, really nice touch :D
The art is amazing. The procedural answers give this feeling of rogue-like, where everytime you start a new run it feels unique. I would have loved if there were more of this procedural answers.
One thing that got my attention is that, even though the character is the same, every run she gives different anwers, which is kinda of greepy. It is like she is never saying the truth, always becoming someone different. This feeling works really well with the no-music and art style.
One of the games I was most curious about when I saw it on twitter. Now is see how it's Foddian. Very unique idea. Good short term memory test. Also gives me somewhat of a Papers Please vibe, which is nice.
But man... It feels much more like an interrogation than a date. I feel sorry for the girl. Dating someone who just doesn't stop asking questions
Thanks for the kind words!
I had originally planned for it to be a two way conversation, where she would ask you questions too every now and then and you had to remember what you said yourself, but it was already very time consuming to write all the dialogue and systems for just the one way conversation.
