found one glitch, I was able to phase through a wall when it was diaganol with an air column diagonally on it, by spamming movement horizontally, I phase through

Incredibly beautiful!

It's insane how you've managed to pull off this level of polish and art in such a short time. Well done! Took some getting used to, but very satisfying to sift through the air with pink rage!

Everything aside from the level design and difficulty progression is amazing, but those 2 things are pretty important :( I got to the area with the 3 gold platforms and the walls that knock you down if you touch them.

There like ninja and katana and stuff.. COOL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

By far the best game in the jam. The controls are snappy, the gameplay is well designed, the sounds are BANGING and do I even need to say anything about the art. I m in love with it!!! Still can't beat it tho (shh)

Beautiful game!

A really nice game. Love the little story animation at the beginning and the Japanese in it. Did you make the fond for the main menu yourself? Also, on the square stones, may I ask what did you mean with the kanji on top? You wrote 右, which means "right". Did you mean 石 - stone??? Yep, I am a Japan fan, so you got me already with the theme :D

Developer (1 edit)

its 石 actually! i just placed a very unfortunate crack in the stone that makes it look like 右 lmaooo

I realized after I submitted that there was a readability problem loll

Edit: The only actual font used is in the dialog boxes inside the game, the rest is just me drawing the letters

Love the art in this!  As others have said, a little ambient sound would go a long way, as it seems eerily silent, but that's the problem with game jams and limited time.

Yeah, I really really wanted to add some music and sfx, but I just didn't prioritize my time correctly T_T
I also thought I could do the entire thing myself which was both a self imposed challenge of sorts since its my first time doing a solo game, and incredibly optimistic, lol. Glad you liked the game!

One of the nicest games in this jam for sure! The mechanics are really cool too, I just felt like the difficulty spiked a little too fast for me lol. But wow you really killed it with the art! Fyi the farthest I got was that pit with wind in the bottom that pushes you back.

uwu so purdy good particles and juice. good weeb shit.
i think having some sfx [even crappy ones] for getting blossoms and some ambient soundscapes are cheap ez ways to _really_ elevate what's already here

overall very awesome job

The gameplay is really satisfying, the sound effects help that a lot! It's a bit hard working out the direction of bounces and stuff, maybe being able to see the bounce trajectory would be helpful? I loved the artstyle and aesthetic. I'd love some nice background music to go with it, and maybe for platforms to be a little less slippy or bouncy? I'm not sure, but overall, really well done!

I really like what you've done! In my head I expected slashing at the ground to end up throwing me in the opposite direction, but after a bit of trial and error I got it down!

You have a really nice intro and all-around great art! The gameplay feels smooth and original it's very satisfying to dash around with a katana! I enjoyed it very much!

Amazing art style! I really like the mechanic but I feel as the the level design does not do the sword slash justice. Also i feel like the game suffers from a lack of movement options. I dont think that a jump is necessary but just having the option to walk left and right and maybe a very weak air strafe mechanic would benefit the overall feel of the characters movement. Remember that the more movement options you give the player, the harder and more creative you can get with the level design. Overall solid game and would love to see it further developed into a full length Foddian game!

Quite impressive looking for the time available. Neat mechanic, though I am not very good at it lol...

As I wrote in my other comment, your development updates in the Discord really inspired me while working on this jam. For that reason and others, playing your game (and especially beating it) was an emotional experience. I also love the idea of getting quite literally bounced around by the world for someone you love -- the way this game punishes hubris while rewarding quiet confidence proves it belongs to the theme.

Art is incredible! I wish there was a bit more sound implemented to give the game more audial response, but overall felt SUPER smooth. Great work!

The art is really good! I wish there was a bit of music, I like the UI and the whole vibe this game has, it has a lot of potential as a full game!

Art is AMAZIN! Feel like music would help a lot! Also the slice sound is used so much would be nice to have some variation like random between  2 - 4 slash sounds. Apart from that really lovely game!
